I like the alien invasion theme. I can definitely see it leading to some Independence Day style event around July 4th.

The map changes, like all this chapter, are pretty subtle. I wish there'd be more to shake things up, but based on the description of the season I expect to see some as the season progresses.

I'm not a fan of the new pulse rifle. I think it needs a small damage buff. The rail gun can shoot through walls and decimate anything/anyone in its path. Seems very overpowered. I'm glad snipers are back though! Now I can 360 YY ladder stall nerds again.

The UFOs... they're already annoying. They're hard to destroy when players are in them. At any given time, even in the middle of a fight, you can be sucked up by either a player- or AI-controlled UFO and get screwed. But if you're in the driver seat, they're not so bad.

There's also battle pass changes and some other things but nobody is gonna read any of this anyway so that's all I'll cover :mrt:

Overall, I'm at a 6.5/10 with the season from the little bit I've already experienced. Looking forward to what's yet to come though!

If you don't know what queue snipes are its when a group of people get together, i do it with like a group of 12-17, and you all start a solo match at once. After starting you guys post the last 3 digits of the match in chat to see if you got in the same game. You do not talk while its happening or ghost or any bs like that. Its a way to play against friends for fun or for a chance to play against some better players. If anyone else would like to host with me just pm me and we can talk about it.

It's not 100% clear how the system will work as of yet as the current interface is just entering a code that the host decides so you can join the game (as of a month ago when they tested it with streamers), but this still opens a huge opportunity for players to be able to play with more than just duos and squads. If this is implemented the possibility of hosted tournaments and possible cross-community competition would be not only easy to set up, but a huge opportunity to grow (depending on how servers are hosted).

 

If this was implemented I would love to see some battle of the community style event held or even small in-house tournaments as I feel Fortnite's population is growing quite quickly as of the past couple months.
