Getting Started.

Alright, so you've joined the HG ZS.. You've just loaded into the beginning of the game...

Perfect loadout for the ALL AROUND AMERICAN BOY:

1. Knife

2. Medkit

3. 'Bandolier' Perk.. (For getting more ammo from crates)

This kit is your basic kit. It is the most versitile, and is a good kit for beginner's.. This allows you to Heal yourself AS WELL as other players.. Wave 1 should be spent Healing others to be able to go into wave 2 with a magnum or similar pistol... Focus on strictly healing those under 60% health.. Try to stay away from healing those that are not activly shooting/repairing the barricade... And always heal those repairing the barricade FIRST.. With no cade.. No points!

Barricade Kit:

1/Carpenter's Hammer

2/'Handy' Perk

3/'Buff' Perk

The Barricade kit is the most basic barricade kit. The Carpenter's hammer allows you to nail and repair props, thus creating and reparing barricades. Note that getting a carpenter's hammer at the start of the round will get you 16 nails, so do not purchase the extra box. Instead, get the handy perk. This will allow you to repair cades faster. Repairing cades will earn you points throughout the round, so you shouldn't need to worry about points to much. The BUFF perk is cheap, but not to effective. It basically allows you to pick up oversized props like vending machines and doors as if they were not "heavy"

Both starter kits are AMAZING to get into point making right away..

Basic Commands:

There are a few basic commands you should know about before really trying to play ZS. The first I'll tell you about is F2. F2 is a key that allows you re-open the worth menu before the game if you closed it to soon, or opens the buy menu in game. It can also be used to check to see what everyone else is using at the start.. As well to see if anyone has an Arsenal Crate. This is a small brown crate that allows you to purchase items. F1 and F3 are also important to know about. F1 opens up a menu in which you can select a help menu, player model menu, player color menu, options, and the credits for the game as well as HG options for further fine tuning.. , F3 is the way to bring up the 'select zombie' menu. That's how you change your zombie class as well as be able to see your CARD UPGRADES.

Another important command is SuitZoom. This allows you to pretty much walk through nailed props.. Although slowly.. With practice while suitzooming you can effectivly suitzoom/jump through cades..

Once you've binded suitzoom to a key, you can then phase through objects, Phasing through objects is a crucial part of ZS. Human survivors, by holding down their suitzoom key, can phase through any objects that have been nailed down by other survivors. This is how people go in and out of barricades. Once you've binded the key, hold it down, and simply walk through the nailed down props. Note that you cannot go through unnailed props, or world entities that are not props. One common issue people have with this is going through cades that are on top of ladders. To fix this, simply hold down suitzoom before you get on the ladder, walk on it, and then go up it while holding suitzoom.

After the Worth Menu:

Alright, so, you've got your loadout and you're ready to go. The first thing you want to do is find out where the rest of your team is headed. The last thing you want to do is be by yourself, out there for the zombies to get you. Either ask where your friends are, look quickly, or follow a few people. Your main goal should be finding out where the humans are making their barricade at. Once you've found out, go there, and wait for the game to begin.

Once the Game has Begun

After the game has begun, you should do one thing. Defend the cade you are at. Do not run to the back, go AFK to surf the web, eat a ton of chips, etc. You should be aiming at the holes in the cade, ready to shoot zombies that attack it. Defend the cade until it's gone, then you're screwed anyways. If you run out of ammo, look for a green resupply crate or an arsenal crate to get some more. If you have a hammer, hit nailed props in the barricade over and over again to repair them. If they're damaged, a sound will emit with each hit, along with a small green cloud on the impact sight. Note that zombies can break cades faster than you repair, so doing it often and repairing while they aren't attacking is a good thing to do.

Buying more guns/upgrades:

As you go throughout the game repairing and killing zombies, you'll earn points. Your points are displayed in the top left corner of your screen. The amount on the left is what you currently have, while the amount on the right is the total points you've earned.

When buying things at an arsenal crate, there's a few things to keep in mind. First off, always make purchases at intermission. At intermission, any purchases at an arsenal crate are 20% off their original price. This comes in very handy when purchasing weapons or ammo in bulk. So, again, always buy between waves, not during them! If it's an emergency and you need a better gun/ammo, then do so. But it's a better use of your points to do so at the time spent between each wave. If you're not sure if it's between waves or not, look at the top left corner of the screen. It should say the wave number, or if it's intermission at the time.

As for which weapons to buy, I'll leave that up to you. You can always ask for suggestions ingame, but get whatever sounds cool to you.

here's a few general tips you should keep in mind while playing. These are tips that will help you survive longer, as well as help you rise over the rest of the human survivors and reach the top end of the scoreboard!

Never, ever, move backwards. You move much slower this way. If you see a group of zombies coming at you, turn around and run. If you have a melee weapon that's faster than your current weapon, get it out. You want to put some distance between you and the zombies before you turn around a shoot again. If they seem to be getting to close, run away again. Try not to let them get close to you whenever possible! A

Always buy between waves, aka during intermission. Everything in the shop is 20% off at that point, and it really helps with buying weapons and/or ammo in bulk!

When running around outside, try to stick with other humans. The greater number of humans you have with you generally means you have a greater chance of survival. Although zombies won't turn and flee, you should hopefully be able to kill them a bit quicker than if you were by yourself. However, if your friends around you start biting it quickly, run. Don't try to fight off all your dead friends alone, because it won't work! Saftey in Numbers!

Switch between your guns and melee often. Rather than trying to shoot every single zombie, kill a few, reload, and then whip out your fastest melee weapon to get some distance. Obviously, they fill back up their ranks, so this doesn't do too much, but it helps!

Jump around on walls, fences, cars, rooftops, ledges, etc. Jumping around, aka parkoring, is a key skill to have. Jumping around helps to avoid zombie strikes, and will usually cause a few zombies to flunder, allowing you to gain some distance.Be sure to crouch jump (pressing ctrl+space bar at the same time), as it'll allow you to get to some higher objects. Of course, some zombies will do the same, and follow you...

Zombie Tips

The other team in Zombie Survival is the zombies, obviously. Now, the zombie team isn't too difficult to play on. But, despite popular belief, running straight at humans and simply doing so because you respawn isn't the best way to do things. Here's a few helpful tips to keep in mind when you're playing as a zombie:

Jump around a bit. Harder to hit a spazzing zombie..

Move in an unpredictable pattern. Don't just chase down a human. Zig-zag, jump, etc. Again, it messes up their aim

If humans arnt running around outside.., stay as a normal zombie. Only go headcrab if there's a clear way you can get inside the cades. Also, for the love of god, don't go fast zombie to break cades. Ever. They have low health and do low damage; they're only effective against humans who are outside/on rooftops. Standard, default zombie is always the best class for cades (until poison zombie comes out, then you can use him instead)... When facing Barricades made mostly of wood..

The Immolator can and will set their entire cade a blaze. .. And earn you both points AND barricade points. .Any Hit against a human will also set them on fire..

Another utility zombie that should be noted would be the Bloated Zombie.. What makes these guys so neat .. Is that while they have more health than a normal zombie.. The best thing with these would be once they take fatal damage they unleash a mass of spit and can usually hit humans every time. A bit low damage.. It does add up over time.. Ultimately you'll be able to afford RUIN in no time!

Don't run from humans. You respawn...... they just die and join zombies..

Another point I would like to lay out is with ZOMBINE usage... Zombines unlocked at wave 6 are practically the strongest zombies that we get.. And they have two wonderful attacks.. Claws that swing rather fast at 45 damage a hit. .And a Self Destruct button.. All the time you will see zombines just running into the cade and exploding.. More often than not using your claws will usually net you more points.. Typically.. If you can hit more than 6 props then exploding is a good bet.. But if not.. Always better to claw.. 45 damage per hit always scales better than any damage from exploding!!

BREAK ALL NAILED PROPS YOU SEE. NEED THOSE BARRICADE POINTS TO UPGRADE!!!!

I can only take credit for at most HALF of this guide. This was a co-op effort from a Friend.

will try to add more as i can

Pretty neat guide!

Only thing i would change is putting the addition of bloated zombies and immolators and their chilled counterparts in the recommended zombie tips section. This 2 zombies demolish cades if used properly and can get you some human kills inside the cade if you use them correctly and i feel like more new and old players should use them often.
