Will this new server host only 1 game or will there be multiple VMs setup and it will run several?

16+ game servers will run on this system. Some will be new game servers that the divisions' create, some will be existing game servers that will be moved onto the new hardware, network and ips.

Thank you @KiLLeR SeNSaTioN™ for your recent donation!

I actually had to spend a little more on a 2U case (instead of 1U case) and the motherboard so the extra funds will greatly help.

Updates

CASE PURCHASED: iStarUSA E-204L Black Aluminum / Steel 2U Rackmount Server Chassis $254.99 (instead of $172.99 for 1U budgeted case)

Really good forced air flow!

We needed a case that has good air flow to keep our cpu and components cool and an 1U just wasn't going to do it without a lot cpu thermal throttling lowering our core boost performance. The top-of-the-line 3950X CPU does not even come with a fan/heatsink (opposed to all the other 3900X series cpus) because it requires a serious cooler solution to keep it cool and sustain temps under load.

We chose a case that would provide enough air flow and allow space for a bigger All-In-One Liquid Cooler CPU cooler, the newly released Dynatron L19.

Regarding the motherboard, we are getting the new model that will release early September. The ASRock Rack X570D4U ($312 instead of the $256 ASRock Rack X470D4U) which is better designed with improvements for the Ryzen 3rd gen processors (our 3950X CPU).

Super excited to say that the Ryzen build is a huge success. Its now built and stress testing is complete. I will post pics soon before shipping it out!

I am super pumped for this! I can't wait! Thank you for the update, Homer.

You will notice a lot of space. This is because we focused on optimal cooling so that we can get the highest CPU speeds without thermal throttling. The 4 case fans on the front push cool air through the case and forces heat out the rear. The CPU cooler originally had only two fans in a push setup. Under stress testing it was found that thermal CPU voltage throttling was happening, so I added two more fans to the cpu cooler radiator for a push/pull setup and this solved the thermal throttling problem and success...we have managed to cool this beast of a CPU that is known to be difficult to keep cool. The CPU cooler static pressure fans push a lot of air through the radiator operating between 4,000 RPM - 6,900 RPM, depending on load. Under the highest stress tests we are able to sustain core boost frequencies without the CPU throttling down its CPU voltage. Its rock solid on all tests and there has been zero crashing or instability. Very happy with the build overall and glad everything worked out for our first HG owned server
