My Jailbreak CT Guns Tier List

(Apologies for any bad grammar anywhere.)

Hey all, I was a bit bored, so I decided to make a tier list for all the guns that are available in the CT !guns menu in Jailbreak. Here I will explain each and every single gun and why they were placed that way. Keep in mind this is a tier list for CTs at the beginning of the round when they spawn in, not as Ts who are rebelling and pick up a CTs gun. This is strictly my own opinion and I would love to hear your guys thoughts on what you would change, and why you would change where a gun should be placed. Lets go!

(Apologies for any bad grammar anywhere.)

Tier List

S Tier: Definitively the best guns to use in all situations and will always be reliable.

M4A4: The best gun in Jailbreak. The M4A4 is useful in all situations when playing as a CT, whether that be crowd control, picking off a single rebel, or general reliability. The M4A4 is often compared to the AK-47, which is fair because it is the exact counterpart for each respective team. But looking at it from both perspectives, the M4A4 just is better in way more situations than the AK-47. The M4A4 has advantages over the AK-47 because of the fact that the Ts don't wear armor, meaning that the upside from regular CS:GO that the AK-47 one shots players wearing a helmet doesn't apply here, because the M4A4 can now also one shot players. Combine that with its easier spray pattern, faster rate of fire, faster movement speed, and better first shot accuracy, the M4A4 simply has more advantages over the AK-47. This is easily the best gun in Jailbreak and you will never go wrong with spawning with it.

M4A1-S: Following closely behind the M4A4 is the M4A1-S. There are many stats that are shared between the M4A4 but there is one definitive stat that puts the M4A1-S right below the M4A4. Fire Rate. With the M4A1-S having 600 RPS versus the M4A4's 666 RPS, the M4A4 will have a slightly higher DPS, which can be very useful for catching Ts right before they leave your sight or finishing off a T firing right back at you, the extra 66 RPS will save you more times than you would think. Other minor drawbacks of the M4A1-S is that its lower magazine capacity and overall ammo capacity being at 25/75. Most of the time, the magazine capacity being five bullets less won't matter too much, since a lot of the time in Jailbreak you are killing a single rebeller and reloading. In very specific situations when there are mass rebellers or wardays are when the five bullets start to become noticeable since you have to start paying attention to your ammo more to care not to with the amount of Ts fighting you. The only advantage the M4A1-S has over the M4A4 is its accuracy, and ever so slightly easier recoil pattern. This being its only advantage is poor though, since the M4A4's accuracy is very accurate already, the very slight increase of accuracy and easier spray pattern don't matter.

A Tier: Very good options with slight weaknesses, reliable in most situations.

AWP: I was debating so much whether I put this in S tier or not, but ultimately the AWP falls a tiny bit short of S-Tier. Don't let this prevent you from trying it out though, the AWP is a fantastic gun and you should definitely try it out if you haven't already. The AWP is fantastic because of its one shot, one kill dynamic. This is the gun that you use to snipe Ts who have escaped from the stack and are traveling around the map in faraway locations where you have no idea where they are. The AWP also excels at rebels in stack moving around as to where you can shoot their arm, or skim the side of their back to kill the rebel. When the Ts are also unstacked along a line like the exterior portion of the deagle cage, hurdles glass, or the first step of obs, the AWP is great for shooting at rebels when they try and maneuver around their teammates to try and avoid being shot. The AWP also being amazing for holding an angle for clueless rebels to turn into are fantastic. There is however, one glaring weakness that the AWP possesses, and its the fact that it is a bolt-action Sniper Rifle. Mass rebelling is the single hardest counter to the AWP, allowing the CT to only kill one or maybe collat two, and be forced to cock their AWP again to hope to noscope the Ts before they bhop to you or pull out their sidearm, a much weaker gun compared to a rifle or SMG. This is what ultimately made me decide to put the AWP in A-tier because of this one glaring weakness. Every other time the AWP is good, you should use it.

AK-47: The AK-47 is by far the most popular choice among CTs and there's a reason why, it is really good. Good base damage of 35, fast reload speed, and the most comfortable gun that every single Counter-Strike player has used and learned. I don't have much to say other than that the AK-47 is a solid choice, it's good at picking rebellers off, crowd control, and is generally reliable like the M4A4. Rather than explaining how good the AK-47 is, I will explain why it isn't better and in S tier. The weakness of the AK-47 that stands out the most (is that it isn't the M4's) is that when you die, the Ts now have a gun that is godlike. The gun goes back to regular, one-shotting guards wearing helmets making the Ts near unstoppable if one of these are in stack. If it was the M4, yes they would still be very powerful, but they wouldn't have the potential of one-tapping your fellow guards and destroying the day. However this drawback is much more manageable since most of the time you don't really care who wins or loses after you die. Though I do still think the M4's are the superior choice, I expect the AK-47 to continue being the most popular gun choice just because it has a special place in everyone's hearts, and is the most comfortable gun for all who play Counter-Strike.

P2000: The most reliable sidearm in Jailbreak. What's not to love about the P2000? It's 13 bullet magazine, one tap potential, fantastic accuracy, high ammo capacity, and strong base damage. This is THE choice for when you need a backup weapon when theres one more rebeller than you expected or are using it in combination with other guns to compensate for their own downsides. Use this more, it is a really good sidearm. The only reason why this is in A tier altogether is because it is a sidearm, and is generally weaker than most if not all the primaries.

USP-S: The USP-S is functionally the same gun as the P2000, with incredibly minor differences. The USP-S having one less bullet in its magazine and 2 less magazines overall, but having a very unnoticeable increase in accuracy and a suppressor. The accuracy increase is barely anything, which does not come into play when judging its effectiveness, and Ts will almost always know where you are, so a suppressor barely matters as well. Just use the P2000 if you're looking to be more effective.

Galil AR: Another fantastic rifle that is very underrated by the community and almost never used. Let me tell you here and now, the Galil is a fantastic weapon and more CTs should start equipping it. This being another rifle, it will do you good in most situations, with its advantage against other rifles being its higher clips size of 35. You can now comfortably spray at bhopping Ts, be more effective in wardays where Ts are rushing you, and switch to your sidearm less to finish off a rebel. It's rate of fire also being 666 with other rifles such as the AK-47 and M4A1-S being 600, this is a very good alternative. It is also good that if you die while having the Galil AR equipped, it is much much better for a T to grab this, than an AK-47 as a majority of players don't really use it, leading them to not being able to use the Galil at its full effectiveness. The one drawback that sets this weapon back from S tier however is its accuracy, and erratic spray pattern. The Galil AR's first shot accuracy pale in comparison to the AK-47 and both of the M4's being more accurate and better for tap-firing. This doesn't come into play too much since jailbreak is mostly a short-mid range game mode but it is worth mentioning. The other downside is that its erratic spray pattern is very awkward compared to other rifles, requiring a downward pull while moving your mouse slightly to the right, then jolting your mouse back left. It seems ironic that the Galil AR is better and also worst at spraying, but if you manage to learn how to spray the Galil, it can easily be one the best weapons in Jailbreak.

Desert Eagle: The powerhouse of sidearms in available in the sidearm slot. The deagle is another very good choice in terms of sidearms and the one reason why is because of its incredibly high base damage. The Deagle will shred any rebellers in a simple 2 clean shots to the abdomen or chest (since they don't have body armor), proving to be much easier than aiming for heads with the P2000 or the USP-S. Most of the time when you are pulling out your sidearm is to finish one rebeller off since you ran out of bullets in your primary and the deagle is perfect for that. The drawback that matters the most when using the deagle is its inaccuracy at longer ranges, proving one tapping rebellers at longer ranges or head-glitching unreliable but doable. The deagle is also the most inaccurate sidearm while moving and shooting so you can no longer do that, which is another downside. Using the deagle at its best however can be devastating and is still a very good sidearm.

B: Definitely usable guns, but are outshined by others. Have specific situations where they do well.

Dual Berettas: The dualies are in a weird spot, they can definitely shine in certain situations, as in shooting mass rebellers with its large clip size, or running and gunning forcing the T to try and track you with their spray. However these are the only two situations in where the dualies are at their best moments. In trying to kill a rebeller far away like at scout desk, the P2000 or USP-S are more desirable. In trying to finish a T off who is bhopping away, the deagle can be found more preferable. The dualies in general are just okay, and are not bad choices, but not good either, and even in their best moments,  P2000 and the deagle can do almost just as well, which makes the dualies sort of irrelevant if you want to be the most effective.

R8 Revolver: If the deagle is the powerhouse of the secondary slot, the R8 is the power FACTORY of the secondary slot. Boasting the ability to one-shot Ts in the abdomen when they have no armor and one hp, this is where the R8 Revolver dominates in long-range situations. Sadly, this is the only situation in where the R8 shines the most, giving it a very specific role. It's delay before firing, extremely low ammo capacity, and inaccuracy while right-clicking lands it in the B tier. Other options are simply more reliable and though the R8 can one shot in the abdomen, its only the abdomen, not the chest.

Tec-9: The Tec-9 is also an alright weapon, having a high magazine capacity and lots of reserve, you can spam this gun for a very long time. Except, why would you do that? Your primary should be your main gun and you really should only be pulling out your sidearm when running out of bullets, in other options shine brighter. This does have a slightly higher magazine capacity, except chances are you are not going to fire all 18 shots of it. What the Tec-9 does, other options do better, and I can really only see CTs equipping this if they want to be the most effective is with the AWP, where the higher magazine capacity will come in more useful. Then again in that case also, why wouldn't you just use the dualies? The Tec-9 is fine, its just outshined by other sidearms.

Famas: Boasting at only 25 bullets per magazine, a higher than average reload time, subpar damage, the Famas is the underdog of the Rifles in Jailbreak. This is like the Tec-9, but for primaries, its fine, you can use it, but other options are better. Its unique burst-fire mechanic can have upwards of 800 RPS but make the Famas feel Clunky to use, the only thing about the Famas that makes it sort of stand out is its incredibly easy to spray with. You barely have to pull down and is easily the easiest rifle to use if you're new, but if you've played at least 100 hours of Counter-Strike ever, you will be much more effective with other rifles.

SG 553: If you're going to use a rifle, don't use the SG, it is easily the worst rifle but since it is one, it lands in B tier for being okay. It has the slowest fire rate of all the rifles landing at 545 RPS which is easily noticeable once you start firing it. Its damage is similar to the AK-47 but overall DPS is lowered because of the fire rate, its accuracy is slightly better, and even better with the scope but thats the only upside comparative to other rifles. Trying to kill a red thats trying to hide in stack is the best upside its got along with being a rifle in general. The decreased fire rate is what sets this gun back, though since it is a standard rifle otherwise, it lands in B tier.

MP7: SMGs are generally very good against unarmored opponents which is good since all Ts are unarmored in Jailbreak. This can make SMGs do damage to even rival that of the rifles. However, the other upside of SMGs is their relatively good accuracy while moving and shooting, but, why would you do that? The majority of Ts that you are going to be killing are Ts unarmed, trying to run away, or just didn't follow the order correctly. This makes submachineguns have very specific roles of killing rebellers who have already found themselves a gun, and have the advantage of being able to run and gun effectively against them. In this case, the MP7 is the best SMG in this case, only because it has the highest accuracy. Accuracy with SMGs is the most important stat, especially when trying to snipe a rebeller hiding in stack, or tap-firing from distances. DPS is less valuable at this point, since all SMGs will do a high amount of DPS already. This brings the SMG category to the playstyle of chasing rebellers more, rather than playing together with your lead and killing those who failed their orders. Even with this specific playstyle in mind, having a rifle or the AWP is more reliable since you can do both, albeit, a little less effective at hunting rebellers than if you had an SMG.

Mac-10: The Mac-10 is also a solid choice if you like using SMGs. What makes it stand out is movement speed is 240 units, only 10 units slower than your knife, meaning you can very easily chase after rebellers trying to bhop away, or run and gun against a rebeller who is alone but already has a gun. The Mac-10's inaccuracy make it unfavorable for trying to snipe a rebel out of a stack, or longer ranges in general. It has a higher fire rate than most, but is by far the easiest SMG to use, proving it to be very reliable at close ranges. Another upside is that if you die by a T whether that being knifed or shot and killed, you will drop a Mac-10, which is far less effective than a rifle or an AWP.

MP9: Another solid choice from the SMG collection, with the MP9 boasting the highest fire rate in CS:GO, meaning you can kill rebelling Ts in no time at all. With the MP9's astounding firerate, gooshing rebelling Ts or even bodying them a few times will jerk their screen upwards making this weapon very effective against Ts trying to fire at you back. This has possibly the lowest kill time in Jailbreak disregarding one hit kills. Other than the situation of rebellers firing back, other SMGs and all rifles are better. Don't underestimate this weapon though, the MP9 will slaughter any rebelling T at close range with no contest.

C Tier: Below average guns. Outshined by almost all above it, too specific to merit serious use.

PP-Bizon: The PP-Bizon lies at the top of C tier because of its stats being similar to the Mac-10, and the Mac-10 not being a terrible option. However, the PP-Bizon should not be used as its only upside comparative to other SMGS are its magazines size. All other stats of the weapon are around the average, except for its accuracy. In terms of this, the PP-Bizon are Mac-10 are practically interchangable with the PP-Bizon having double its magazine size versus the Mac-10s better accuracy. As stated before, accuracy is more important than magazine size, and it is very rare that you will need more than 30 bullets to kill some Ts. However, in the situations that you do need more than 30 bullets, the PP-Bizon is better, in more situations other SMGS will reign superior though, use something else.

Five-Seven: This falls within the same category of the Tec-9, except its standing inaccuracy is far less than the Tec-9. It also has less damage comparatively to other sidearms, and since Ts don't have armor, the armor penetration doesn't matter. The Five-Seven is essentially a worst version of the Tec-9, and even the Tec-9 isn't that good in Jailbreak. Use something else if you want to be more effective.

P250: The P250 is another jack of all trades, but worse. The only upside to using a P250 is being able to 3-shot Ts to the body with no armor, but sidearms are only meant to be used when your primary is inefficient for a specific situation, or have run out of ammo and don't have time to reload. This meaning, that if you have at least a little bit of aim, when you run out of ammo in your primary, you just need 1 or 2 shots to finish off the T that you were already shooting. Other sidearms do this better and have better stats, use this if you want your shots to have a little extra punch, in exchange for accuracy and ammo.

UMP-45: This is the worst SMG in Jailbreak. The UMP's upside from regular CS:GO is having a high armor penetration at close ranges to try and steal a gun. This doesn't matter at all, and what the UMP sacrifices for this is a much slower fire rate, less base damage, less accuracy, and is generally the worst SMG you could've chosen. It'll still work, but there is no reason for you to choose this gun over others.

MAG-7: To those who enjoy using shotguns and the MAG-7, I am here to tell you it is a terrible idea. This is the best shotgun to pick if you really want to use a shotgun, but you should generally avoid shotguns in Jailbreak. Freeshooting will become rampant, you will not be able to take care of rebellers in stack at all, and if you wanted to use a gun that you can run and gun with, you should use an SMG. The MAG-7 is the best out of all the shotguns because it has the tightest spread, and if you aim properly, can one shot close range rebellers. This is the only upside of the MAG-7, and even this is unreliable since spread is random, and if you don't one shot them, you can be sure you are going to die if the rebeller has any sort of aim whatsoever. If the rebeller didn't have a gun anyways, you would much rather prefer a gun with a higher magazine capacity that is much more forgiving and will do its job perfectly fine.

CZ-75 Auto: This is a sad case, because the CZ is actually a decent sidearm for you to use. It is automatic, making it very handy in combination with the AWP and having a 2nd automatic gun is always helpful. The CZ is set back by its ammo capacity, and inability to one-tap headshot unless you are right next to them. Coupled with the fact that it has terrible accuracy and a near uncontrollable spray, the CZ is just too unreliable. Realistically you'll kill 3 Ts if you are very sparing with your ammo and then just not have a sidearm to rely on. If the CZ had more ammo, it could be bumped up to B or even arguably A, but with 24 bullets you're not going to do much with it.

D Tier: Better guns in all situations, avoid these unless you want to meme.

SSG 08: The scout when spawned with on CT is not a good gun. There is no reason why you should use the Scout if the AWP is available to you at the beginning of the round. There is an argument to be made that you can one-shot Ts in the abdomen, but not in the chest, heavily limiting your options in terms of killing rebellers. Yes, it has better stats than the AWP is all situations other than the damage, but the damage between one-shotting in the chest for some extra movement speed is ridiculous. Just use the AWP.

Nova: As I've already talked about shotguns in the MAG-7 section, the Nova is just a worse version of it. Sure you have 3 more shots, but trading 3 more shots for a bigger spread, less damage, and a magazine instead of loading shells one by one is not a good idea. If you really want to use a shotgun and wanted to be effective, just use the MAG-7.

Sawed-Off: I don't want to talk about how god awful this gun is.

Glock: This gun is terrible, but that's the point. It is a warning gun, meaning it does only 1 damage per shot and pops up a message when you are shot with it. I have no idea what the purpose of a warning gun does in Jailbreak, but it is clearly a meme gun, avoid if you want to be effective.

Hey! You made it to the end of my tier list, what did you think? Agree or Disagree? I want all the feedback you guys can give me and by no means did I mean for this to be an end all tier list. I want this to somewhat be a discussion, and not just "this is what guns you should use and avoid these ones". One more thing, you're playing jailbreak to have fun, not necessarily to tryhard. You can use whatever guns you want, it doesn't matter if you want to use the Sawed-Off and the glock, as long as you are having fun, that's all that really matters (Although if you do use the Sawed-Off and Glock, you will literally be useless).

Thanks for taking the time to read my post! :agree:

I personally prefer an AK47 in most situations. This is mainly because I use it more in comp and am better at controlling its recoil than the M4. It also kills unarmored Ts with 3 body shots so the slower rate of fire actually does not mean a slower time to kill. Using less bullets is relevant as I will often use the majority of my ammo in a full round.

I use an M4 on CT mainly so I can have a real skin to track stattrak with (you cannot use real AK skins on CT with how JB works right now).

I switch to the AWP/scout (from their main cell spawns) if I know there is a gun in stack as I will be going for risky headshots. Also if I know its an admin room round I grab an AWP in armory to go for the wallbangs.

As for pistols I think I've decided that the elites are the best. The only time I use a pistol is if I'm out of ammo in my rifle, and that usually happens when dealing with multiple rebelling ts. This is almost always at close range and the ammo capacity is the biggest necessity at that point. Also if I'm bored it lets me draw on the walls or make gunshot music.

Realistically all the other guns are better in such small niche scenarios that they aren't worth equipping. There's no economy in JB so just use AK/Elite every round if you care about actual effectiveness.

JB is about fun, and while I enjoy hunting and killing rebels that doesn't mean anyone else has to. Play with whatever gun you find the most enjoyable, I use an M4 just for a shiny skin/number even though I think it's worse than the AK. Some people enjoy playing with non-optimal guns and I think you could make a whole other Tier-list about the meme value of every gun.

mp9 the best CT gun for sure cause Ts don't have armor.  I just use ak to give you shit cans a handicap 😀

While I do believe the Mp9 is a very strong weapon in some situations. It lacks the reliability of being able to kill Ts at longer ranges consistently. It does kill Ts extremely fast since they have no armor and the Mp9 has an extremely high fire rate, the rifles can do the exact same thing albeit slightly slower. In most cases, the difference between a couple miliseconds when killing a T with an Mp9 comparatively to an AK or M4 is not worth the trade off of being inaccurate at farther ranges and a missing one tap potential at medium ranges as well. While I do see your argument, in more situations you would prefer a rifle rather than an Mp9.
