Hi, if you've never mapped before, and want to get a grasp of it; I'm available to teach you the basics of mapping one-on-one.

We'll discuss brushes, entities, and engine limitations. Not so much gamemode-specific mapping (zm/ze).

My requirements are that you have counter-strike: source downloaded and teamviewer. If you're interested; post in the thread and add me on Steam.

Some of my recent work:

Once you understand the basics, the rest piles on well. A lot can be figured out as you go.

I just took his basic lesson. All I can say is;

Wow. He knows his stuff and does a damn good job at explaining it.

He helped me with every question I had, explaining brushes, entities, skyboxes, lighting, textures, all of the basic things that you can think of. He explained things in a very simple and easy to understand way.

At first I was scared that he'd fuck with my computer so I closed basically everything and hid my files, but he was very cautious and explained everything he was doing. I absolutely vouch for him and he is a great tutor.

I actually wouldn't mind adding you for a few bits of advice. I actually learnt how to map completely by editing existing maps and now I am able to create my own. Obviously there are some artistic aspects that I lack, but another thing that helps me with that is having experienced people on Steam to contact whenever I want.

Also, your portfolio is really looking good, I'm loving the designs.
I'm staying high, but enjoying my life...

I have recently completed the first basic lesson and feel a lot more confident in my future of mapping. When I first opened up the editor I had no idea what I was doing, I even tried using different Youtube videos and nothing was sinking through. I can now say that through his guidance, I now have a basic fundamental understanding of mapping and I am anxious to learn more.
