Please forgive me if this post is a little 'unstructured' but I need to spread this now.

Net neutrality is something that is keeping the internet stable, removing this will essentially putting a paywall between every website and killing some aswell. The most common definition to describe this is:

"The principle that internet service providers and governments regulating most of the Internet must treat all data on the internet the same, and not discriminate or charge differently by user, content, website, platform, application, type of attached equipment, or method of communication. For instance, under these principles, internet service providers are unable to intentionally block, slow down or charge money for specific websites and online content." - Definition from https://en.wikipedia.../Net_neutrality

If this rule gets put out of place, tons of websites like Reddit, Discord, Netflix, Dropbox, Pornhub and Twitter among many others will essentially be put behind a paywall or something of the sort. Heres a full list of the important websites https://www.battlefo...2/#participants

Not only will it put most websites behind a paywall, it will seemingly eliminate/block websites with lower or higher traffic. I fear that this website that we all are familar with, will close shop.

We can however do something about this, you can visit https://www.battleforthenet.com/ and congress against this menace, everyone counts. Theres 20 days until this congress ends and when it does, it will determine the fate of Net neutrality, the clock is ticking.

I'll see you again.

You do know that this is a serious issue and that it's actually really important, right?

This kind of thing gets closer to reality every year. :/ They are always sneaking tiny bits of law in to degrade net neutrality every year. Makes me sad, because that shouldn't be happening. :\

I agree a 100% with this but the internet has been under attack for years now each and every time they try some bullshit to try to keep the internet from being a free state it fails.

If the whole drama with EA and the battle front game proofs that the internet is VERY powerful. They wont pass laws that hinder anyone access to the net. Because there will be instant work arounds and money wasted.

Okay, this is how we deal with this problem, we go on perp and we imagine the CPs and Police are actually the FCC, with the Mayor being the Head of the FCC. Just don't RDM ;)

The part that upsets me is the fact that they also want to stop states to enforce net neutrality. Also i would point out that we had multiple attempts of removing net neutrality and they all fail, However it does bring up the discussion on making internet a part of title II. As far as I know, the benefits of having net neutrality outweigh the consequences.

It would be interesting to hear someone outside of the US their view of net neutrality.

Well, worst case we can all just build a new internet... Somehow. Lol I think I saw that in a movie but I cannot place what movie.

In all seriousness though, the best way to stop this is by making your local government afraid they wont get reelected if they support anything that would harm the 'free' internet.  Petitions basically.
