Japan Sengoku: Japan Has No Info On North Korean Nuclear Test Plan - Kyodo
TOKYO (Dow Jones)--Japan has no information acai berry that North Korea is preparing for another nuclear test as reported by a South Korean daily, Kyodo News reported Thursday, citing the top government spokesman.
Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshito Sengoku said the government has not obtained such information from the United States or Japan's intelligence networks.
"We're aware of the report," Sengoku said at a news conference. "But at this moment, there are no such facts."
The Chosun Ilbo newspaper reported Thursday that a U.S. reconnaissance satellite has detected signs of North Korea preparing for a nuclear test in North Hamgyong Province, where it conducted both of its two earlier tests in October 2006 and May 2009.
