Never trust a hippie
WW1 - July 28, 1914 WW2 - September 1, 1939 9/11 - 8 years ago...that's why it impact us so much, it is a recent event, most of our generation was around to witness, and THAT is why it's so important still. What event in the last 10 years impacted us as hard as 9/11? Were you around for WW1 and WW2? No you weren't, quit trying to start shit. Who the fuck said it was the "most" important. This is pretty disrespectful of you. We don't need a history lesson. you forgot the civil war: 620,000 dead give or take, by far the bloodiest war in our history I think everyone here is commited to remembering those who perished rather than hating those who killed them. I glad everyone knows where they were when it happened, you should... Edited September 12, 2009 by Never trust a hippie
Artillery
I was in Gr.6 when it happened. Seemed kind of random to me. Indeed an unfortunate loss of life though. :\

If you look at all of the other wars or battles, this is pretty low on the list, but I'm not at all saying that the least one has little importance, all of them are the same. 60Seconds
I was on a field trip to the Metropolitan Museum of Art and we were going over the George Washington Bridge when the first plane hit the North Tower. I saw it happen and eventually we turned around and they let us go home. It was horrible I wish i had never seen it

Kiri-Jolith
I was in 5th grade. Class had only been going for a little while and the teacher got a call from her husband telling her to turn on the news. We ended up sitting there watching the news for the rest of the day. I didn't know what the towers were, but I could tell they were important. I started bawling when they announced on the TV that people were trapped inside and that people had died. Ended up going home for the rest of the day. Remember those who lost their lives from terrorism, but remember even more the actions we took afterwords.
