iPod touch or Zune?

I have a Zune 120GB right now, it's fantastic.

I ordered the Zune HD this morning... but wait.

CHECKCARD ASI*ZUNE

ORIGINALS 877-438-9...

-$323.29

Thank you for your interest in Zune Originals. Unfortunately, there was a problem with your recent order 1064362 and it could not be completed. We apologize for the inconvenience.

So Microsoft charged me, took the money out of my account, and then 7 hours later told me my credit card was rejected. Obviously not putting the money back into my account.

I've always been an Ipod guy...Ipods never fail you...I have never tried the zune before but one of my friends had one and said it sucked lol...i guess its all about persona preferance...anyways, heres a great website that reviews both really in depth.

I'm not sure if you've bought already; however I have had 3 Zunes, all of which I loved with a passion. The screens are HUGE, and the software is very intuitive. I love it from head to toe. I had 1st gen 80gb, the small 8gb 2nd gen, and currently have the 2nd gen 120gb. I have used my friend's iPods and whatnot, and I hate them with a passion compared to the Zune. If it is any help to you, get the Zune (and the zune pass is amazing, 15 bucks a month for unlimited music and so long as you keep paying, you get to keep all you download. You also get to keep 10 songs a month forever, they can't take away even if you stop paying.)

How did I miss this thread? Anyway, it does have a lot to do with personal preference, but you do have some non-negotiable points to look at. The iTunes store has a bigger selection, and a larger user base. The Zune store has the Zune pass, which is pretty awesome - my roomie has it, though the store itself might not have everything you're looking for. Yet.

Microsoft also looks like their next play will be whoring out Zune services big time, starting with the xbox.

I haven't looked at any Zune hardware in the last few years, I believe they're still using simple file structures on their devices, which makes dropping music onto it (or pulling it over wi-fi...) that much easier. I really loathe the fact that you have to set up your sync to get music on your iPod, and since I have several computers, would only be able to sync from one instead of moving media wherever I feel like.

That and I have Apple's core fan base with a passion. At least the ones that like them because they're trendy, not those who have an appreciation for where they were 10 and 15 years ago. It's not a fucking status symbol, it's a media player.

I got my Zune HD after constant bickering with their useless support staff today, all I can say is I'm amazed.

First off, the screen is amazing, colors look beautiful. Pictures I synced look over 9000 times better than the crappy compensation the Zune 180GB gave me. The HD actually looks at the file size and structures it accordingly, while still allowing you to zoom in.

Second, the flow of selecting music. It really doesn't get much better, it's easy peasy to find any artist/song/genre/album you're looking for, especially with their integration of the *click here to bring up the alphabet and go directly to that letter*. Also, if you play an artist and don't lock your screen immediately there will be a nice text flow that just looks cool.

Certain artists have bios that you can read if you want, I haven't found any that have pictures yet but I'm still looking through all of my artists.

Video looks good also, although syncing is a bitch for some reason as opposed to the Zune 180GB.

As for battery life I went from Full charge to -2(from the full battery symbol) in about 5 or 6 hours, which I think is really good considering I was still messing around with the new stuff like apps and different pictures I synced. The AMOLED screen saves battery life on black pixels because it doesn't even have to light them up.

I connected the device to my WI-FI and I was extremely surprised at how the new mobile marketplace looks, much more streamlined as opposed to the Zune 180GB. Things download very fast(maybe it's my super 30mb/s DL speed xD).

Anyways, TL;DR.

I love my Zune HD, Apps store sucks for the moment, hopefully Microsoft starts dedicating itself to that. Browser is still in the early stages and is slow no matter what connection you have. All in all it does what it needs to do, plays and presents media while giving the user a extremely slim and slick device.

:)

Ipod : Reliable, user-friendly, lot of features/functions, stylish, Itunes store = great.

Zune : Reliable, lots of features, zune marketplace = sucks.

It's complete personal preference, but I'm an Ipod fan. I have a lot of friends who are diehard zune fans so no clue.

What's so bad about the zune marketplace?
