South Africa's Gary Player, Spain's Jose Maria Olazabal and American Mark O'Meara were among the others who watched eight children's age-group champions crowned on the eve of the first official practice for next week's Masters tournament. More than 80,000 youth from US and Canadian cities entered and advanced from local, sectional and regional events to become among the 80 who reached Augusta National. Their first-pumping excitement at sinking long putts and chips brought a smile to the face of Watson, who could join Jack Nicklaus as the only players to win three Masters in a four-season span with a victory next Sunday.
