Church's Warden Games

 

Hey all, so over the course of playing jailbreak for the past few years, I invent games as I go to try

and keep things fresh and see what's fun. I decided to compile a list here so you guys can use

them too!

 

Categories

 

Minimum players:
2

Maximum players:
N/A

Ideal # of players:
10

 

Description:
One of my most popular games, Categories is a game of thinking and memory. Challenges the warden faces require coming up with a category not too large and not too small, and the warden must have a good enough memory to remember what has been said already.

 

Rules:
Have players line up in a way where you can call them out one by one (easiest way is to have them on the outside of deagle cage). Players are called out one-by-one and must give you something from the category specified. If they give you something that does not belong to the category, or if they give you something that has already been said then they die.

 

Tips

 

Have players type their answers in all-chat so you can remember what has been said easier.

Good categories are ones that are a medium size such as: Weapons from CS:GO, weapons from CS:S, periodic table elements.

Bad categories are ones that are too large, too small or not well-known to most people. Examples: Movies, video games,
(insert obscure anime here)
characters.

 

Alphabet

 

Minimum players:
2

Maximum players:
N/A

Ideal # of players:
10

 

Description:
Unlike Categories, Alphabet requires players to think on the spot. Similar to Categories, however this game severely limits the amount of answers each player can give. Because of this it is generally a good idea to pick a larger (not too large) category to play with. This game does not require the use of the memory to make up for the 'on-the-spot' difficulty.

 

Rules:
Have players line up in a way where you can call them out one by one (easiest way is to have them on the outside of deagle cage). Players are called out one-by-one and are given a letter. The letters they are given correspond with the alphabet (i.e. first player is given the letter 'A', second player 'B', third player 'C' etc.). They must give you something from the category specified that begins with their given letter. If they fail, then they die.

 

Tips

 

Have players type their answers in all-chat for easier reading

Longest Word

Description:
Longest Word is the quickest of my word games to setup, because it requires no thinking of categories on the warden's part. Although not generally as popular with the T's, this game is a relatively quick way to get LR.

 

Rules:
Have players line up in a way where you can call them out one by one (easiest way is to have them on the outside of deagle cage). Players are called out one-by-one and are given a number. The numbers they are given correspond to their order in line (i.e. first player is given the number 1, second player 2, third player 3 etc.). They must give you a word that has exactly the number of letters as the number that they were given (i.e. the 6th player called is given the number 6, and must give a word that is 6 letters long). If they fail, then they die.

Word Association

 

Minimum players:

Ideal # of players:

Description:
Word Association is a test of vocabulary knowledge. The warden must have access to a bank of words with equal complexity.

 

Rules:
Have T's line up on the outside of the deagle cage. Call them one by one left to right, and give them a word. In the standard version of the game, they must respond with an
antonym
of the word, or in the alternate version they must respond with a
synonym
of the word. If they answer incorrectly or take too long, they die.

 

Tips

Dance Dance Freeze

 

Minimum players:
2

Maximum players:

Ideal # of players:
15

 

Description:
Dance Dance Freeze requires a CT with HLDJ. Typically it is best if the warden has it. This is a reaction game involving listening.

 

Rules:
Have players spread out in an open, visible area (on top of big cage is the best spot I have found). The designated DJ will queue up music. When the music starts, players must 'dance' by running, jumping, knifing etc. When the music stops, the last T to freeze will die. Leaving the designated area (i.e. top of big cage) also results in death.

 

Tips

 

Add a stipulation so that any player caught not jumping, running and knifing while the music is on will be killed.

Add a stipulation so that any player stacking on another player when the music stops will be killed. (This makes it easier to shoot the loser of each round)

 

Jaws

 

Minimum players:
2

Ideal # of players:
10

 

Description:
Jaws requires a CT to be in heart-shaped pool with (preferably) max HP and no guns. Jaws is similar to Sharks and Minnows, or Gatekeeper but has timed gameplay instead.

 

Rules:
Have players go inside of gay showers and the designated 'jaws CT' go into the heart-shaped pool. Call T's out two or three at a time (depending on the overall number of players) to go into the heart-shaped pool. Players must survive 10 seconds in the pool with 'Jaws' before they are allowed to leave. Players may not knife Jaws, and must avoid him until time is up.

 

Tips

 

Use the game clock and tell the current players the time that they are allowed to leave at.

Play Jaws theme music for maximum spookiness.

 

Gladiator

 

Minimum players:
2

Maximum players:

Ideal # of players:
10

 

Description:
Gladiator takes a fair amount of both T's and CT's. It is a variant on a standard knife fight day where the winner of each fight faces harder and harder challenges until they lose.

 

Rules:
Have T's and CT's all go inside of the knife arena. Decide one 'gladiator' from each team. Have the two players knife fight. The winner must face 2 gladiators from the opposing team. If they win again they must face 3 gladiators, and then 4 etc. When a gladiator loses, the game resets and 2 gladiators from both teams are chosen again.

 

Tips

 

Have both teams be on their respective tombstones to avoid interference.

 

 

Ho-Down

 

Minimum players:
2

Maximum players:
10 (More than this can result in difficulty keeping track of everyone)

Ideal # of players:
10

 

Description:
Ho-Down is a game of partial luck and reaction. The warden will need to be quick in his orders

 

Rules:
Have T's get on top of the big cage and partner up. Each pair will face each other and stand close together (but not too close). Give them one of the following orders:

"Jump, Knife or Crouch. If you and your partner do the same action, you both die."

"Jump, Knife or Crouch. If you and your partner do not do the same action, you both die."

You can also only give 2 actions each round, or more than 3. Mix it up and be creative.

(OPTIONAL) On the last round of Ho-Down, have both players either jump or crouch. If they both jump, they both die. If they both crouch, they both live. If one jumps and one crouches, the one who crouched dies.

 

Tips

 

Have the T's spread out enough that you can see them all clearly

Be strict on delayers, because T's can communicate in mic/chat to coordinate their actions

As an option, have T's face away from their partners so they can't see what the other one is doing

 

 

Scenes From A Hat

 

Minimum players:
2

Maximum players:
N/A

Ideal # of players:
10

 

Description:
Scenes From A Hat is an opinionated day variant that encourages creativity with prompts.

 

Rules:
Have T's get on top of the big cage and unstack at the highest point. The warden will then give prompts such as:

"Things you don't say at a funeral"

"Things you don't say right before you get married"

"Things you don't bring on a camping trip"

"Things you don't normally see on The Shopping Channel"

There are endless possibilities. Participating T's
may choose
to step up onto the big cage sign and respond to each prompt. If the response is good, they go onto the yellow silo (or whichever prize you choose). If the response is bad, they die. Keep giving prompts until you have a few rounds where nobody steps up, or you run out of T's.

 

Tips

 

Be creative with your scene prompts, or players won't want to step up.

Wow, somneone actually making creative games for jailbreak. If I had an award to give you, I'd give it to you.

 

Irk about categories though, as long as you keep it simple it's fine

Added Word Assocation, Ho-Down and Scenes From A Hat

I don't necessarily agree. Categories is similar to Trivia, by that logic we would be giving an advantage to T's if I did something like 'Runescape Trivia'

The point, just like Trivia, is to test your knowledge.
