Like the title says...what are the best options when improving fps and not lagging on (HG) ZS Server?

I have all my settings low and have my battery on high proformance and also have this game in task manager on high priority level.

so what else is there to improve? Does my game play better on a desktop than a laptop?

most of the fps issues hg zs has is due to the high server population, and terrible map optimization most zs maps have.

currently i am working on optimizing some of the favorited maps to help minimize this lag.

to get a bit more complicated, unoptimized maps will render parts of the map that the player cannot see. this stresses the already maxed out source engine and gives low fps on the client side, regardless if they are using a super computer or a potato. source engine was designed to work on very low end hardware, and renders the map based on these things called "visleafs" which are areas of the map, rather than what the player can actually see. if the visleaf you are in can see another visleaf, it will render everything that other visleaf entails. if a map maker doesn't use proper methods to create strategic visleafs, the compiler will place them as best it can, which is usually not so great.
