Blitzkrieg
I did one of those speed tests that my friends told me about and these were the results: It shows that im supposed to get like 3 times more than i am. Is it my network card in my PC or the ISP's fault?
Jake
it could just be what plan your setup on. just call your ISP and see what speed your setup at
bort
Sometimes your router can slow it down. try plugging directly into your modem and see if the speeds improve. Theoretically, LAN equipment like routers and switches are so much faster than your internet connection that they should not affect your speeds whatsoever. However, I have plenty of real world experience that says otherwise.

bort
fios? yeah its fios 20/20 package I do have it plugged directly into my router, and that directly to a land line. Don't know whats up. so you're saying u have a combined modem/router? you can't bypass the router to see if ur speeds improve? then the problem is probably with your ISP you should call them Omg, my internet has been going slow recently, I just checked mine. Holy fuck, this is bad. fail
Blitzkrieg
I could get FiOS for a discount cause my dad worked for them (I think i could) but its not available in my area. -Edit: I think i will call them and complain, besides, if they say no i could always pull the "Well i guess ill have to switch to Time Warner then" stunt and get even better connection =D Edited October 11, 2009 by Blitzkrieg

Blitzkrieg
so you're saying u have a combined modem/router? you can't bypass the router to see if ur speeds improve? I'm kind of bad with the terminology, I have a cable running from a phone jack into a splitter into a router, then from that, a Ethernet cord running to my PC. If your asking if i can plug the phone line right into the computer, i don't think i can, cause it would fuck with the phones. At least thats what i was told.
