Opinion On Escrow's Effect On The Tf2 Economy?

So recently, Steam released the Escrow update: an update that requires the use of a mobile authentication app to confirm trades and receive items immediately. However, if both parties do not have the Mobile App, the users must wait 3 days or more to get the traded items. In addition, if a trade is canceled, you are trade blocked for a week with all players. I find this to be overprotective on steams' half, but i'm wondering what other people think. I am currently Escrow trade blocked until Tuesday, so this update is frustrating to say the least.
