Champ Kind Posted January 5, 2016 Share Posted January 5, 2016 Tom Coughlin resigned as head coach of the New York Giants on Monday, saying he took responsibility for the National Football League team's third straight losing season. The 69-year-old met with Giants co-owners Steve Tisch and John Mara on Monday afternoon, and informed them that he is stepping down after the Giants failed to reach the postseason for the fourth year in a row and the sixth time in seven years. "I met with John Mara and Steve Tisch this afternoon, and I informed them that it is in the best interest of the organization that I step down as head coach," Coughlin said.
