Johnson SEATTLE (Reuters) - Seattle's city council on Monday narrowly rejected a proposal that would pave the way for a new sports arena, dimming the hopes for the NBA to return to the city after the beloved SuperSonics moved away in 2008. The council voted 4-5 against a plan that involved closing a city street and selling land to billionaire Chris Hansen, who hopes to build an 19,000-seat arena that could attract NHL and NBA franchises to Seattle, according to city officials. "Today’s City Council vote was disappointing but we don’t believe it is the end of the road in our quest to bring the NBA and NHL back to Seattle," the Seattle hedge fund manager said in a statement.
