G.K.M.Y
So if a random beginner no-knowledged person wanted to learn some map-making, game programming, or stuff like that (not CounterStrike specific), where would one start? This example taking into consideration that the person has no knowledge of any game coding type, softwares, engines, or any terminology. ;D
I Love Lamp
Depends on what you want to learn specifically. Coding and map making are two very different areas.

If you call Stephen Colbert socialist you: 1. Have no idea who he is 2. No idea how awesome he is.

I'm kinda in the state where I want to get a bit of knowledge in "all areas". Looking up coding, I think I'm going to try learning some C++. weinerchomper
For the coding in, you should get some O'Reilly's books because they are AMAZING for beginners, then go from there. For mapping, watch some beginner Youtube tutorials, or read some noob guides from like FPSBANANA, and then follow them/work with them, and then start to mess around and trying to make new things and learn more about how to make what you want, what entities do etc.
weinerchomper
And before you go dedicating all your time into C++, I would recommend you learn LUA, because although it isn't a full platform for programming, it will get into your brain what programming in other languages is going to be like, and it can be integrated with C++, ANDDDD you can make stuff for GMOD!
