Minutes after Rodriguez's pre-game ceremony began on the field at Yankee Stadium, the clouds opened up as thunder, lightning and driving rain sent officials, players, fans and Rodriguez's family members scurrying for cover. The 41-year-old will be officially released after the game against the Tampa Bay Rays, ending the Yankees career of one of the most successful but controversial players of baseball's steroid era.
