Champ Kind Posted September 16, 2016 Share Posted September 16, 2016 Former New Orleans Pelicans coach Monty Williams, who played in the NBA for nine seasons before retiring in 2003, was named Friday as vice president of basketball operations for the San Antonio Spurs. Williams, who played for the Spurs from 1996 to 1998, was an assistant coach on the US gold medal basketball team at last month's Rio Olympics.
