Events such as this that are going to make drastic alterations to how a game is played on the LIVE server should be broadcast-ed on the server weeks before the event so that the regulars who aren't in HG know whats going to happen. It seems as though a lot of players were pissed off by this event regardless of how HG feels about it. The population of the server should come first.

this would make sense but. it was public knowledge in the forums since it was posted in November and the only complaint I've seen is that someone was upset because they couldn't win a prize since they weren't a member. Even if it was announced on the servers weeks before how will that help someone who happens across the server during the event. I would like this proof of "a lot of players" it seems you are just snowballing what 1 person said.
