Jxhn
I'm trying to find a good VR setup for Steam games. I'm looking for: -Omni-directional treadmill -Headset -Gun controllers Thanks guys
porkcow
Really your best choices are either the HTC Vive or the Oculus rift touch bundle. They're both pretty identical in visuals and most games on steam support both, really the only difference between the two is how they do tracking and how the controllers look. I've tried both now and own the Oculus rift and really don't feel like I could have made a bad choice buying either one.
Jxhn
Also to add on to this, the vive is better for actually walking around a room with it, the oculus can do that it just not as well, so if you would rather sit in a computer chair then id go with the oculus rift. I want to get an Omni-directional treadmill, look it up.
Jxhn
I know what that is, I would go with a vive then, it has better sensors and will allow more freedom. What ODT would you recommend and what other gear would I need?
Jxhn
As far as the ODT goes, most likely just whatever standard one they offer, you really wont need much more than that. And for gear, take a look here https://www.vive.com/us/accessory/ Just checked, VIVE doesn't work with ODTs
Jxhn
Just wanted to update this, what would you guys recommend for handheld controllers or gloves? Pretty sure I can bump since this is related to the topic.
