Joey1
________________________________________________________________________________ Everybody knows about the MW2 level "No Russian" right? If you don't click here ^ Now, this level is so controversial that it asks you to even skip it. Personally I think they went a little teeny tiny bit to far on this one. You play as a CIA undercover agent and slaughter innocent civilians. And eventually a S.W.A.T. team shows up. You kill them and make your way to a truck where Makarov drives away. Makarov kills you and drives away. Controversial or Not Controversial and why? Leave it in the thread. I think it's just a game and should not be taken to drastic measures. This has been on news too. Gracefail<3
I think it's just a game and should not be taken to drastic measures. This has been on news too. It has gone past the point of a game if you just randomly slaughter innocent civilians. The level should be removed due to the fact that it is just pure mayhem. Gore and violence should not be used as a thrill effect in any game.. at least, not in such a disgraceful manner. (That's a lie, Global. Everyone here except you loves violence and gore.) Wingless
It's optional for a reason. COD has always been great at providing a cinematic experience without marketing it as a cinematic experience. It's a piece of plot that probably couldn't have been done properly through cut scene (which the game doesn't really use to begin with) so I think it contributes to the overall story. It's nothing worse than you haven't seen 100 times in movies before, anyway.
I Love Lamp
I think if you actually play through the story mode you see why it's in there. Most of the people commenting on it have never played through the campaign, so their opinion is pointless.
Weeman
I've beaten the game, and this level is actually VERY important to the overall plot, and you find out why you were put in that situation at the very end of the game.

Yea, exactly as weeman says, you find out why you were put in the mission at the end, and if i got a notice to skip, i probably was acting as though i was " in " the game.... Ssmurrf
The level is definetly very important to the overall story, but with current issues facing the world, it may have been pushed to the very limit. Personaly I don't find it controversial b/c it is just a GAME, but I can see where the people that do think it is are coming from.
Rize
Slaughtering innocent civilians should be a vital part of any video game. Come on.

snowsoftJ4C
This level was central to the plot, you were given the option to skip, and hell, you didn't even have to shoot at the civilians. AT ALL. Most people did it anyways.

tiki-dog
Guys, the developers wanted you to feel what this guy was going through at the time. **SPOILER ALERT** In the end, shephard tipped off makarov about this undercover agent, so that they could start a war between russia and the US. little did makarov know that shephard was gonna betray him and send all of his men after makarov. Shepard is a dirty motherfucker.
