I AM Your Reason
So I just installed Windows 7. I love it, but ever since I did this I get really bad FPS drops at random times in CSS. Like from a steady 110-140 down to 5-15 constant. It wont repair until I restart the game. Its a fresh install, no viruses according to Avira, and I have all the latest drivers. SPECS: Windows 7 Ultimate x64 Intel Core 2 Quad @ 2.66 nVidia GeForce 9800 GT 8 gB DDR2 RAM 750 GB HDD @ 7200rpm Creative SB X-FI Fatal1ty Edition Everything is stock from the factory at HP except for W7 and my soundcard. Wingless
You do have your 3rd party drivers up to date, right? Built in Windows drivers do the trick for day-to-day, but they don't make the cut for gaming.
DANY YAMZ
Try installing the latest drivers for your card which would be these ones released just yesterday: http://www.nvidia.com/object/win7_winvista_64bit_195.62_whql.html Also, do you have good air flow in your system? Sounds like it could be overheating.
I AM Your Reason
I figured out that it was overheating. Any reccomendations on Graphics cards?
Bahl
How much money are you willing to blow? Then we can talk what you should get... or you could just improve the flow into/out of your case unless it fried the card

RetiredTacos
I have a GTX 260 (like $350 what the fuck?) in this comp. but ill probably go ATI for this pc. Yeah...I wouldn't pay more than 165$ for a 260, if you go over that you can get a 4890 for 200$.
snowsoftJ4C
Hmm this happens to my poor lappy. I just installed a huge FPS tweak through cfg and made some starting up mods. So my game looks like shit but I can play about 70 FPS instead of 25.
Slazenger
Terry recommended two XFX cards and I can't agree more. In my experience, the XFX cards perform beautifully, are very stable for overclocking, and balance form + function nicely. Very recommended (plus you get an awesome door hanger.) =p
