We do NOT need socialized health care in the United States. Health care, much to a lot of people's surprise, is NOT a right.

 

Regardless, I think I definitely agree with Obama on this one. Democrats and Republicans actually used to lead the country forward (weird huh?) and backwards, but SOMEWHERE through compromise. Now it seems though that they can't get anything done because they think they know whats best for the American people, and neither actually does know what the American people want.

 

Anyway, I do hope that both parties finally understand that we did not send them to Washington to bash each other, but to get stuff done!

Plus people go broke because they lose all their money to non social health insurance. ALL of this ties in with unemployment rates as well. Shit, our country is ranked 37th in the world for healthcare, were right above Kazakastan, A THIRD WORLD COUNTRY! D: . France is top because it utilizes its social health plan to its fullest capability.

The deathrates due to no healthcare coverage? What about the deathrate of people WITH healthcare? People die, it's not something socialized healthcare will fix.

 

We live in a Capitalistic society, which means you WORK for what you need. If you can't afford healthcare, that is the individual's fault. It is nothing which Government should be involved in. Why you ask? Economics does not (pay attention to this) DOES NOT care about the status of the individual. You work for what you get, and if you're going to half-ass life then that is what you will receive. The problem is that people are too ethical and believe that we have to help EVERYONE who doesn't help themselves. Should we reward those who do nothing to contribute to our economy, and waste even MORE tax dollars on someone who doesn't contribute? These are the things that bankrupt a nation. And if you want proof of this, check the bailouts of the huge companies. This drenched our nation in debt, for companies which do not PRODUCE. It is the essential same analogy. If you do not produce, do you deserve? No, and you merely plunge us into more debt.

 

France utilizes Social health care and how do you think socialized health care works? When government has control over a sector, it is up to them to decide whether or not an individual is worth the money to care for them. I hate the word "Death Panels" because it doesn't describe anything. Socialized health care is doing the right thing, but with the wrong means. Waiting a month+ for an urgent surgery all because your government decides whether you're worth it or not. With our current health care you can walk in and get treated immediately, whereas this would NEVER happen in a government controlled health care system.

 

Also, having government control a sector of our economy using tax payer's money isn't a good idea.
