Well after a few minutes of figuring it out in my head there appears to be a problem. A player can only change their name on a new round, and according to console logs you asked him to change his name and kicked him before the round ended and the game to allow him to change his name. We do this so hackers can't name steal and try and get others banned. In addition you are aware that you could ban him by yourself right? Unless your implying that he deserves a permanent ban, which considering the circumstances wouldn't be warranted.

 

Anyways following up, Slaz posted a week ban for him here: Ban Link (12-22-09)

However this was lifted after apparently a "talk", clearly he has not decided to listen. Thank you for the report.

Apperently a 9 bans from the same clan: Ban List (Most Recent: 2-16-10)

He got that name for atleast 2 rounds and i said to change the name

are you aware, that admins have a command to force change name, so this doesn't happen?

 

in console, type

 

sm_rename (original name) (preferred name) without parenthesis

 

Oh i never know that admins can do that thanks for the tip

I don't really ever ban for people using the name "Hitler" just because he was a historical figure. That's like trying to ban someone for using the name "Stalin" as he did terrible things too.

 

However, if this previous talk is true. Then he is banned of this moment. He's going to have to come into the forums and explain why he did not listen to the first warning.

EDIT: Perma, oh wow. lmfao and wow, you guys are good with finding information, thats my picture :( and it isn't a clan, it's a community ^^ It should be classed as 8 since I got banned for a joke from an admin who is my friend. although, "Hitler's dick" I didn't think it would offend anyone, my bad.

He's on my friend's list. Spoke to him again. This is just all a misunderstanding from I can see. He's a regular on JB and usually plays without causing trouble. I also looked in the logs, after being kicked he came back with his normal name of md.

 

From one screenshot it doesn't show prior warnings or give a sense of time. From the screenshot you also did not establish yourself as an admin. You just got your admin so he had no clue who you were or that you were an admin.

 

Said he got his name from 2:07 ---->

 

 

Unbanned.

Three months ago and he hasn't had a problem since, it becomes less relevant at that point. A misunderstanding about a name that really isn't offensive can become an issue if we try to make it one. As long as he follows the rules and tries to pay attention to admins better it is fine.
