3D
Hey guys, around 1 week ago I used defraggler for the first time, Instead of the window defrag, This truly is an amazing program, I used it and it cleared up 75 GB of bullshit + 30 GB this week after doing some more installing/uninstalling It's well worth getting, As ambush also used it and Master is soon to, and Ambush would agree it is preety much amazing and will clear up alot of space on your computer from left behind bollocks and other stuff not needed I'd advise using this on a Monthly basis or if you uninstall/install crap one week, Use it after that. I'd rate this program a 10/10 For how it preety much clears up alot of crap that is not needed, and doesn't cost a single cent/penny Link is here http://www.piriform.com/defraggler The other program I found maybe not as useful is a program named CCleaner, This removes any unwanted registry you don't need, this won't make a huge difference as Defraggler will, But using this if You've had your computer for a while it will get rid of those unwanted registry (Please please back up any files, Don't click the yes button, try to find something then be like..... oopps.) Link for CCleaner is here http://www.ccleaner.com/ Although these may not be the best thing out there, and there may be better, these products are preety damm good for free products. ZEE SUPER GERMAN!
My StRUT class uses CCleaner on all our pc's before we donate them. It really is a great program! I also use it to keep annoying/unnecessary programs from opening when I turn on my pc, really makes my startups MUCH faster. I would suggest CCleaner highly. Cr(+)sshair
My computer necessities: NOD32 Antivirus CCleaner Acronis Backup/Restore Disk Directory (Scans your HDD's and shows what's taking up the most space) Defrag once a week.
Wingless
Spinrite every once in a blue moon is nice. I also use an app (forget the name, but it's free) that random writes to delete files and will also write over space marked as free from within the OS. DoD data scrubbing for the paranoid. Weeman
You used a "defragging" program and it cleared up 75 gigs of space? hmmm ok you'd be surprised what the computer illiterate can pull off in the "WHAT THE FUCK HAVE YOU BEEN DOING?" category. and since bone is from the UK it doesn't surprise me to much :-p P.S. don't defrag too often, else it will damage your Hard drive
Wingless
Normally there would be a long winded post about data markers, allocation and such, but I think it would be wasted finger dancing.

adomorn
i never defrag, clean the registry, or even have an antivirus. I just D.O.D. format the damn thing every 3 months. the worst viruses i've ever had on my computer were virus scanners. constantly scanning my shit and slowing it down in the process. D3nL
Tissue paper not do the job? Tissues work just fine. But it's the CCleaner that gets deep down into the stains that may not be visible on the surface.
