Dr.jiggles
My evga geforce gtx 280 sc edition is currently running dx11 idk how it got that but thats what it says it has and i was wondering if anyone can tell me how to put dx 10 or dx9 since i dont like dx 11 I tried downloading dx 10 and 9 but either it says wont download, broken link, or after finishing the instal that you already have a more modern version and theres no need for this version. evga 790i ftw edition motherboard evga geforce gtx 280sc edition 500 gb maxtor 7200rpm and window 7 32 bit home premium the reason i ask is because i am getting a ton of lag from playing games like css and tf2 which i should be getting insane amount of fps, and some guy said that it was because my gtx 280 is running dx11 and it really wasnt built for it and i should put it in vista emulation dx10 or xp emultion dx 9 and that i would be getting a lot more fps http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AjlvyN1rh.zNqckKXP4gF5fty6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20091208074458AATeL3w Edited March 17, 2010 by Dr.jiggles
Weeman
use your nvidia control panel in your taskbar, should be able to force a certain dx. also games should have the option to run in either dx10 or dx11 now.

That's what I initially tried, but correct me if I'm wrong but (I'm probably wrong) it's still running through my card and since my cards architetire was built for dx 10 & 9 it will still lag, also whenever I put let's say assassins creed to run dx9 or dx 10 I still get the same fps as someone with a 9800gt. Also I just want my card free from dx11 And Terry I will try that when I get home. Thx for your responses.
Vetman
Yeah, go in to your Nvidia options, there is a option that allows you to change what DX your card runs. If not, re-install the drivers, and if you dont want to do that - turn down the anti aliasing, turn down the rez, and deal with it.
bort
first of all, go here and download and install the latest drivers for your card: http://www.nvidia.com/object/win7_winvista_32bit_196.21_whql.html then, If, and only if, you are still getting bad FPS problems, you can run CSS in alternate DX modes by doing the following: -dxlevel 70 for DirectX 7.0 -dxlevel 80 for DirectX 8.0 -dxlevel 81 for DirectX 8.1 -dxlevel 90 for DirectX 9.
