Cefdinir
>9mm 9mm ammo? No thanks, I'd have a better chance attacking someone with a stick. Then you have fun paying more for PRACTICE ammo and good luck with those sticks. Plus, caliber isn't everything--it's all about shot placement. Besides that, it's a pretty good deal. Thanks. I really think HG should have a gun forum (and i could be the moderator):cheesy:
Wingless
>9mm 9mm ammo? No thanks, I'd have a better chance attacking someone with a stick. I will end you. And I will do it with 9mm FMJ just to prove a point. Meanwhile, not on the equipment/purpose of use high horse, I kind of need some more 9mm, but I don't know if I need 1000 rounds of 9mm. Then again, the Republicans are getting antsy, so maybe... Edited April 3, 2010 by Wingless

Cefdinir
.45 > 9mm You are still going nowhere with your argument. Man, as I look around this deal is looking better and better. I might just buy a case.
Clark
Hey, I shoot a .45 and we use the 9mm for home defense too. It's all about personal preference. If you shoot someone one breaking into your home with just one Hydra Shok bullet.....I don't care who they are, they ain't getting up. Also, empty a magazine into 'em and that works just fine too. Thanks for the find, jopaa. I usually like my 9mm a little heavier, but that's a good price.

You can't just look at the ammo when choosing what to carry/use. 9mm weapons are by and large thinner and a bit lighter, which gives a nod for carry. Then again, a .45 with an expanding round may be the best load (on paper) for people stopping. (I should also note that nothing ever goes down in ballistics like it does on paper, nor am I saying that .45 is the best defense caliber) On the flip side, neither caliber will stop a person in their tracks by momentum or velocity alone, but a frag round from either caliber will seriously screw up someone's day. I also carry 26 rounds in 2 mags in 9mm, and I'm not so worried if more than one person to try to break in. I know that I should have more than enough ammo already loaded to defend myself if the situation goes south, and it will, and I'll take 26 over 7&7 if it hits the fan. Both calibers have a lot going for them, but it is all a matter of personal preference. Now I just need to decide if I want to drop 200 dollars on ammo. Sock
.45 > 9mm 9mm is fully capable of passing government penetration tests. 9mm also has max case pressure over 13,000 psi more than .45. Deag1e
clark just use up your hydroshock ammo. Buy some of the new home defense ammo from hornady. Use a new design that they fill the cavity of the hollow point with a rubber so clothing and what not does jam into it and cause it not to expand. the new home defense ammo is reliable every time. 9mm is a great round people just thing bigger round is better which is not always the case take for instance the .408 or .416 vs the 50 bmg.
