Don't get DQ'd while you're taking it.

Don't get shitty drunk or stoned the night before

Eat breakfast

Get sleep. Like the kind normal people get.

Pretty much the same rules you should be following for interviews. Other than that, hopefully you paid at least a little attention in school :P

You should of studied every day for a week or so before it. (that comes from some1 that never studies :( )

Then the day before you dont study. (dont cram everything in the night before.)

Get a good night sleep.

Eat a good breakfast (but not to big.)

Stay hydrated (bring water if you can.)

Chew on a piece of candy or gum to calm you some.

(this reminds me to sign up for my SAT and ACT)

Make sure you read directions and graphs (science) very carefully, dont spend too much time on a question you dont know as to not waste too much time. Come back to it if needed. Dont get too nervous before because its just like any old test.

For math def know your cos tan buttons. um.. and obviously your y=mx+b equasions

Lol, thanks for the advice, i get to wake up at 6 to be able to eat breakfast, seeing as to how i woke up at 2pm today, that might be a bit of a problem.

-Edit: Whats studying?

-Edit 2: Yeah, I've taken a year of trig, so I'm good to go with that. I'm pretty good at math, it's science I'm worried about. I'm a really good test taker, so i shouldn't be too nervous, lol.

I never took the ACT but from my experience with the SAT. If they give you a break take it to walk around. I found that getting out of the room helped me leave the last sections behind and let me move on. Yeah and eat breakfast. I know that may be a struggle but do it.

Especially for me, who barely manages to choke down a granola bar and a Red Bull or 8 oz. OJ between 9 and 11 in the morning, but it beats the hell out of starving.

Yeah, i already talked to mom about it, Ham omelet with home fries, toast and some orange juice. Like i said before, its getting enough sleep that is my problem.

In Ohio, theres a High School graduation test (OGT) that you have to take over 5 days, a different section each day. I got 2 hours of sleep each night and still passed everything above average.... I don't think i'll be able to do that for the ACT though, seeing as to how i payed for it.

Well I've taken the ACT 4 times so far (scores: 32,32,28,34) It really helps being in calculus and all IB english classes, if you aren't I recommended you download some help disk from a torrent website :D. Because of my most recent score I'm getting fullride offers so I wish you the best of luck :D.

Alright I took the ACT and SAT and my ACT scores are what carried me into college :DDD

Most important thing for me - as well as a lot of people - is that the time runs out faster than you think. You probably know the format with 4 different sections (math, science, reading, writing)

The essay came first and that wasn't bad because my mind was freshest then - as long as you pace yourself you'll have plenty of time.

The problems I had were with reading and science because I ended up running out of time near the end and had to skim the reading and questions just to get it done in time. I still got a 36 in science though lol. Guessed the last 4 correct I guess.

Science isn't difficult, just a lot of interpreting graphs.

All in all, time is a problem for a lot of people, so while it's oversaid a lot, you gotta push yourself to stay on pace.

Aaaaaand good luck. These tests are meaningless in college, but I did end up with a 34. Guess away if you have to!

Yeah, i have to find my calculator, i don't think you're allowed to take a graphing calculator, so i'll have to find the old shitty blue one i used in middle school....

And i didn't take the writing section because its not required in the 2 colleges i plan on going to, so i should be ok. I'm really bad at writing tests because i always run out of time, so i thought it would just hurt my score anyway.

I got a 31 on the ACT (i'll post a pic when i find my old test results sheet) and i must say it was very easy, but i've heard it goes from easy to hard every other year so i don't know if they've made it more consistent. The math is extremely easy and the only real problem i had was the science section. STUDY UP ON THE SCIENCE SECTION. everything else seemed very basic to me.

Currently, I am in IB calc 3 in school and the december math portion was insanely difficult, some things you litterally needed some advanced trig to solve and I'm sure it was too hard for anyone who hasnt taken atleast calc one. But you are allowed to use a graphing calculator (just not ti-89) and the difficulty scale is rediculous you can miss like 10 per section for a 31 and like 3 per for a 34.
