Low FPS in GTA IV

I average about 15-20 fps in GTA IV in both multiplayer and Single Player

that is with the auto con-fig... even when I tweak the setting all the way to low I still average 15-20

in other words its really annoying for multiplayer especially since I always get disconnected with this message "your computer is to slow"

here are my specs:

CPU-Z Validator 3.1

any suggestions/ideas?

please stay on topic :)

Yeah I looked into the issue more today and found out that the game does not like my phenom quad core CPU... Apparently a good amount of people with high end computer( compared to the games system reccomendations) are having the same issue... I guess I will have to wait for a patch or when my new CPU arrives :)

There is a shit ton of AM3 mobo's on sale at newegg right now, around the 100 dollar range. I think ASUS even had one on sale for like 99 bucks.

EDIT:

Here it is: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131398

It's only got 5 SATA ports though....they have some nicer ones in the 100-150 range.

Your computer is better than mine all around, but yet I can run it, & you can't.

How are you judging that? What fps do you get? What you using to monitor? I think you have LOW fps you just aren't aware of it :mrt:

**EDIT** What are the rest of your specs beaner? What resolution you play at? :)
