I ripped this from slickdeals.

I use this headset to game with. I do enjoy it as it is quite comfortable, and sounds great. It uses usb, so it has its own sound controller with the headset, and makes it easier for plug and play action. I paid $99 for it when I got it a couple of months ago.

Newegg synopsis:

When it comes to surviving on the virtual battlefield, you're only as good as your tools are. That's why you should never step into the arena without the Creative Sound Blaster Arena USB Gaming Headset.

LOL pro. My wife and I have been using these headphones. No one knows what I'm talking about when they ask what headset I use. They're great though.

Oh and before you read the reviews let me counter review:

"The USB cable is long and easy to break"

-Don't plug it in to the front of your computer and beat on it dummy.

"Feels flimsy"

-If you're typically careless with the things you buy don't buy this. It is lightweight and doesn't feel like a brick on top of your head. Smashing, throwing, stomping, kicking, and punching are a few things this headset will probably not withstand.

"The silencer feature muffles my voice"

-Turn it off dummy.

"The microphone is easy to break"

-It plugs and unplugs into your headset one way. Don't tug on it before it's properly aligned to come out. DERP.

"Too small for my head"

-Adjust it dummy. Perhaps there's some other problem(fathead).

"The padding on top makes my head hurt"

-You may think you have it adjusted correctly but it's on too tight. Make it bigger. The headset is rounded not form fitted to your head. If you look you'll notice the speakers are meant to curve back to your ears not drop straight down beside them. See the elbow? Okay that wasn't too hard right?

"Sounds great"

-I agree

I agree with all of your counter arguments.

I've used plantronics headsets for the longest time because the mic sounded great. I switched to this headset because I wanted better sound for myself. I have to have a headset that is USB driven because I am a nerd that hates on-board sound. The mic on these isn't as wonderful as the plantronics, but I don't care how well you hear my voice, I care how well I can hear you walking around so I can murderface you.

This headset is worth $100 in my opinion. Getting them at $50 is a steal.

 - spend money on a good combo that will last forever, or buy new 100$ headsets every year, you choose. Also gaming headsets is why 90% of people on vent sound like robots or Clay Aiken.
