The_Justicar
Finished the first 2 books in the series, very good. The author did an excellent job, but that's to be expected from the authiors for the Black Library. Anyone else like Warhammer 40000? Games, Books, Miniatures? I play Dawn of War also. Even just Warhammer? I really like the Gotrek and Felix books, William king is one of my favorite authors.
Hellmoo
I do like Warhammer 40,000 games, but I have not read the books. Are they worth while, and what would you rate them.
The_Justicar
Most of the books I've read I would rate 5 stars, There are a few that seem kind of clumsy, and stiffly written, stay away from anything by Ben Counter except for the Grey Knights series. By far, the best ones I've read were the Space Wolves series by William King, and Rynn's World by Steve Parker. A good book to start on would be the Blood Ravens Omnibus, it starts at the beginning of Dawn of War, so you are already familiar with the settings and characters. If you played the beginning of the campaign anyway.
Lee Lemon
The Blood Angels omnibus is an amazing set of books. Who would you consider your favorite Black Library author?
The_Justicar
William King, His books are the most action packed, while having very well developed characters. He wrote the Space Wolf and the Gotrek and Felix series'. I mean space vikings and a crazy dwarf, what's not to love?
Lee Lemon
Yeah I agree, William King is probably the best writer in the Black Library roster. Not only are his stories amazing but he is also one of the most prolific authors in their lineup.
The_Justicar
Well, Graham McNeill and Dan Abnett are my second choices, The Ultramarines books are always good, and Dan Abnett always has some of the best characters out there.
Lee Lemon
What's your favorite chapter of Space Marines?
The_Justicar
Space Wolves, for obvious reasons (space vikings) and the Black Templars. The Black Templars are all about hand-to-hand combat, and they have the most badass chaplains around.
