Hey guys, what are some of the things you have overclocked on your pc?

I got my i7 920 up to 4189.5mhz just on air! If i bumb the FSB to 215 I can get it to almost 4500mhz!

I also got my GTX 285 OC to 705/1512/1300 but im still working on increasing the overclock some more.

haha i never said i can play run prime95 with the FSB at 215. It usually always crashes.

When it crashes it means it's going to lock up at high loads. It won't crash with CSS but it will for say, Bad Company 2. Use my template for your vid card and it'll be smooth.

Yeah, but I have noticed that the filters decrease the air flow inside the case.

They only decrease if the filters get clogged. If you can, try making a duct that leads to a window and seal it. Have it easily detachable in case it's hot outside.

Another option is to put your computer near the floor since it's cooler down there...and try to face it sideways so it's continually pushing hot air away from it to the other side of your room. =)

I never thought of that. My pc always pushes the hot air through the back and straight at the wall. I have been thinking about rotating my V8 sideways so it will push the hot air from the CPU through the 200mm fan on top. I feel like that fan doesn't do shit.

That's how I have it...except I have 3 fans on my Noctua, 2 high rpm's pushing up and a lower rpm pushing it to the back.

cool.....i7 is beastin, my C0 runs at 4.0ghz without issue. I've seen D0's run at 4.2 on air all day, 4.5 is doable with a very well done air setup.

Yes yes. Terry, which i7 are you rockin'?

I plan to do a w/c setup soon to get 4.7-4.8

It'll be A LOT of troubleshooting lol

i7 975 has a smaller more powerful core. A 920 would def. need that setup but 4.7 has been done before with w/c.

The 975s are still bloomfields made with 45nm manufacturing technology. I don't see how it can be smaller.

I have the original 920 C0, got when it first came out, wish I had a D0 haha

Are you sure you can get up to 4.7 with w/c? I feel like you need a nitrogen cooled pc for that.

Yes you can run i7's at 4.7 on water. All i7's are bloomfield last i checked, only difference is what multiplier they use.

It's 45nm yes, but 975's have less transistors and smaller die sizes which is therefore smaller.

It can't have a die shrink if its still 45nm technology. I was just looking it up to and it seems to have the same die size as all the others.

Also less transistors usually means less performance.

The i7 980x would have a smaller die.
