Well with volunteers to do all those bad things but not ban them and on for mass freekilling have bots at the bottom of big cage and not ban them just say what to do and how to handle it

Im not looking for ideas on how to do it, and i think ive said before Red it wouldnt take that long, id just need to set everything up, etc etc, But yeah around 20 - 40 minutes is all it would take every week or two

IDK this is a tough call, most admins wouldn't show up because people have different play times.

Good Idea it'll teach the admins not to do anything wrong so that more and more people will think that us admins are actually good rather than complaining.

I'm still holding to my modified admin idea, only in a different way.

 

I think that if a VIP is willing to go to the training sessions, they should get basic, essential commands for the server they have VIP on i.e. kick, slay, and mute. If they abuse these, they can get their VIP/Partial Admin revoked, much in the same way as a full admin can get Admin revoked.

also we should have leaders to help with administrating this because like koala said people play at different times so in which not everyone being able to attend

I can understand how this would work with HG admins because you'd know where to find them but what about the non HG members/recruits that have admin? I mean...are you seriously going to track down every single person who has admin and add them to steam then be like "HEY! We're going to train you so you don't F*** up :D" ????

 

I'm not quite sure that would fall over too well. Plus...once it really gets down to it...How many admins are really willing to take their time out of having fun and playing on the servers they love to spend and hour learning how to admin.

This only recently occurred to me while I was talking with my step-dad about when I would be able to get admin, myself.

I share my computer with multiple family members and we have a 2 hour timelimit. (I.E. If I was on for 2 hours and someone else wanted on then I'd have to get off, but if someone else didn't want on I could stay on till)

I understand it's important to dedicate yourselves to being better at something, and trust me, I really don't want to screw up at being an admin, but for a session that takes up half of my playing time...? Plus, keeping in mind that I have many other things to do, that I very rarely get to fit into 2 hours while on the computer. That would mean I would have an hour of admin training then an hour to get a part of an edit done (I have an online, non paying editing job for roleplayers and sites that want banners), check my rp myspace, my facebook, raise my virtual pets, check HG forums, chat with friends, and possibly play some CSS, L4D/2, HL2, or TF2...and I would have to cut all that up into the 2 hours at a time that I'm on in a day.

So, I guess my point here would be that I'm wondering if there is a better solution...Perhaps for those of us who kill themselves with their online life (such as me) could just get a demo taken of each session and sent to them, or notes taken, or something so we can take a look at it when we actually have time.

 

I'd be all for it if someone could just take a .dem for me during these sessions and then when i have time I could watch it and just send a summary of it to Blade???

 

(Yes I realize I just asked a question and answered it all on my own...I'm thinking on my feet here lol)

The point of this was to aim it at the -hg- and player admins not the [HG] HG |, and id create a thread, and ask ingame, whoever wanted to turn up could turn up. and yeah i guess they could be demoed

just purchased admin today. wasn't really hard to deal with fk'ers/spammers. if you're active enough in the server you could figure out the stuff yourself. although i still think training is a great idea blade. still up for volunteering for anything you need.

I think this is a great idea because different admins have different rules they go by sometimes. If we had this so called "class" i think their judgments would be around the same for everything and us regulars would not have to ask an admin if they are ok with something just because a new admin came in.

We've tossed around the idea of formal admin training. In fact we're somewhat in the works of a secret project which should work to reduce abuse once we have it perfected
