Cr(+)sshair
Shouldn't this be in Dev/Tech Talk/Help? Anyway, my only advice is NEVER get an nVIDIA graphics card, my experience with them has always been horrible, they're made for gaming but for me they've never done the job. I recommend getting something from ATI RADEON or ASUS. Are you kidding me? You have much to learn about nVid.

piscian
Ignore me, I think I've just been unlucky with nVIDIA graphics cards... word nvidia is generally considered a far more reliable brand though I use both I prefer nvidia

Cefdinir
Prices are starting to come down on HD 5870s. I have one on the way and hope to have another within the month. The best cards have already been mentioned.
Guest The_Monkey
If you don't want to commit driver suicide, and have a great multi-monitor experience (eyefinity sucks!)....nvidia. If you want top performance on a single monitor setup...sometimes ati.
Cr(+)sshair
Ignore me, I think I've just been unlucky with nVIDIA graphics cards... The only reason why you have problems with nVid is because you got an ASUS card. Anything ASUS fails, and good luck on their customer support. EVGA replaced ALL cards that burnt out from the 197 driver that caused fans to stop working.

Skiptron
It depends on your budget. But any DX11 GPU would works well. $200 and below : Nvidia GTX 460 or ATI HD 5770 $500 and below: 5970 (Some site have them below with rebate and such) , 5870 or 5850 Crossfire (seems to be one of the best card to Crossfire), Nvidia 480 or 470. Also, you need enough power to run this card (Especailly SLI or Crossfire) I would recommend Corsair PSU products, since there one of the best and reliable PSU maker.
