Enjuaguese
I'll include pictures. PS, I have Steam on an external HD. Okay, I have a Steam shortcut on my desktop, and the icon is there. Nothing bad. I pin it to the taskbar, or open it, it displays that icon. I"ve tried almost everything to try and get rid of it, but nothing works. Thats another shortcut, but with a different icon. When I pin that one to the taskbar, the icon stays the same This is really starting to piss me off. Any suggestions?

Cr(+)sshair
Oh...right-click in an empty space over there...click Properties. When turn system icons on/off show up, go down to Customize Notification Options. Profit.
Vetman
Another thing you can do is if what crosshair said to do didn't work. Ctrl + Del go to the processes tab and end "explorer.exe". You should see all of your icons go away and your task bar go away. They should all come back replenished and restored in a certain amount of time depending on the OS you have and the speed of your processor. The process will re-initiate. Sometimes they don't come back, if this is the case, Ctrl-Alt-Del again and do File, New Task (Run), and type in explorer.exe and gogogo
