Enjuaguese
This is my first tutorial, so it's bound to suck. How to make shiny, metal text in Photoshop I saw a company logo that looked just like this, and decided to try and make it in Photoshop this morning. So, here's how to make it Note: Try to use a bolder font Before: After: First, what you want to do is select the Type Tool, and type out what you want. After you have what you want typed out, go to Layer>Layer Style>Gradient Overlay... And set your options to something around what I have: Note: Be sure to use a light to dark color. Then go to Layer>Layer Style> Inner Glow... This will give the text a bit more of a defined look Use my settings below: Be sure to use a darker color for the glow. This is where it will start to get more of its look. Click and hold on the Rectangular Marquee Tool to get the Elliptical Marquee Tool. After getting that, create a new layer, and drag an area approximately to what I have below, and fill it with white. Set the opacity to 90% Ctrl+Click on the (highlighted) text layer That creates a selection that is the shape of that layer. Now click on the Elliptical layer, and select "Selection Inverse" This is what you should get: Now just erase the white, and you should be left with something like this: Still on the Elliptical layer, go to Layer>Layer Styles>Gradient Overlay... Set your settings to what I have below: Last but not least, we need to add a drop shadow. Go so Layer>Layer Styles>Drop Shadow, and use [iMPORTANT] settings I have below: Note: You may need to change some settings depending on the size of your text And now you should be done! How did I do? Post your own Photoshop tutorials! I plan on making more and posting them on this topic later on.

Enjuaguese
Heres another tutorial, this one I really like (as you can see, its my signature...lulz) Note: Yes, I know this is not the best font to use. Use something bold, or skinny. Doesn't really matter. This is what I'm modeling after: Before: After: Difficulty: 2.5 out of 5 Just type out what you want. Everything, even what will be in the box. Then, create a new text layer, and retype the words you want in the box over the other ones, and then hide the layer. You'll need it for later. Now that you have you have the second layer of text done, create a new layer and put it between the first text layer, and the second. Click on the Pen Tool icon, and select the Rectangle Tool Drag out a square that touches the first letter of the non boxed letters, and then right click and press "Make Selection" Fill the box with a color, or just the text color. It doesn't matter, because we'll be changing the colors later. Merge the square and the non-boxed text together. [Do this by Shift+click on the layers you want merged, then left click and select merge] Go to Layers>Layer Style>Gradient Overlay...and have settings similar to mine: Select a top portion of the layer, and copy and paste it. Move the layer above the boxed text. (if you're using white like me, you won't need to change anything. If you're using any other color though, you'll need to change it to white)[/img] Now, change the opacity to 32%, or your likings, and then go to Filter>Blur>Gaussian Blur and set the blur to 2.3. Now you should having something like this: Re enable the boxed text layer Go to Layer>Layer Styles> Inner Shadow and set it to my settings:That may need to change depending on the size of your image. Done! How was the tutorial? Could I make anything clearer, or explain further into a certain topic?
