khan
Well, looking at the HG Website on IE9, there is a bug, don't know if it's on HG's end or microsoft's end (most likely their fault) as you can see in the picture, some things get cut off at the tab bar Internet Explorer 9 Firefox

khan
actually IE9 is pretty cool right now, as long as they fix the 2000 problems with all the other IE's, then it'll be fine. And I was looking for a legit answer guys... so thanks monkey
Bob the Android Penguin
Microsoft has a bad record with IE. If it wasn't for firefox they wouldn't have added tabs ever. If it wasn't for pressure from firefox and chrome, they wouldn't have put any effort into IE9. I'll stick with firefox 4.

Guest The_Monkey
Ok, checked into it....stop using it for now if it bugs you. I will not work on a fix until the final version is released. The problem is dumb and has to do with list items.
enigma#
By any chance, do you know if 'Compatibility mode' will function for HG's website? Sorry to extend the discussion because I have IE9 Beta installed on my company machine and I seem to have no problems utilising the settings or user bar =/
Guest The_Monkey
It only affects the login bar at the top when you aren't logged in....so, to me, it is a minor inconvenience. You simply need to go and try and reply to a post to get prompted to login with a proper login screen. This is the best solition IMO. However, feel free to try compatibility view. I don't feel like closing every single program on my computer just to reopen the virtual machine with win7 and IE9 beta installed.

Linoleum Knive
My friend installed it behind my back. I use compatibility mode if I want to check for notifications, but then I turn it right back off, cause it makes every thread look like this: Thats annoying for me to look at. enigma#
The chaos in a Windows Registry is just as bad when you blow a pizza pop up? (maybe a bad analogy but meh) This is a reason why sometimes you get really messed up Windows installations and sometimes you don't... (sometimes...) HADES
I think this is why: http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fhellsgamers.com%2Fcontent%2F%3Fs%3D1630522deb5e62b12fbe237bb2993c6c&charset=%28detect+automatically%29&doctype=Inline&group=0 In other words bad HTML/CSS! I installed IE 9 Beta... and run compatibility mode and it didn't work! Proof: http://www.mediafire.com/imageview.php?quickkey=cd45uu7n73yz4ns&thumb=4 It also explains this: http://zhost.hellsgamers.com/u/sv/broken.jpg Edit: If I change the document mode from 9 to 8 or 7, only then it works! So I am kind of sure it's bad css/html at this point. Edited October 21, 2010 by HADES

I guess we partially agree. Try adding this in the head: <meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=8" /> I think that force IE9 to run mode 8 instead of the default 9. You can also try this: <meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=7" />
