Reaper
Hey, I was wondering if there was a way to install Steam onto a flash drive. I heard of people installing it on a 32GB flash and then installing a game on it to. I just want steam so I can see who's online when im away from my comp. Any advice or help will be appreciated. Thanks guys!
Kiri-Jolith
um, not really. When you install a program it not only puts the files on the computer, it puts entries into your computers registry. without the registry entries the program won't work. enigma#
To add-on to what Kiri said, it also installs a service on your computer so you don't have to run Steam with elevated privileges everytime. I am aware that Steam is capable of repairing itself in some cases (for instance in a broken installation) however whether it applies to other devices such as USB sticks... I do not know. Thanks guys! You don't need anything but the steam client to view friends/games list. Just download the client off steampowered.com and install/log on, you don't have to install any games and its 1mb.
