msaber
First, you should probably buy a graphics card. I used to run on-board. then one day i thought to myself "what the hell am i thinking." later that day bought one, and tf2 no longer lagged. about the 1kping. That is a problem that i couldnt help you with, sorry
RetiredTacos
Your ping is 1k because you computer is lagging (fps wise) bad. You are lagging bad because you need a dedicated video card, there is no setting you can change to fix this.
Bob the Android Penguin
Source Engine games are more CPU intensive than GPU, but as Terry Taco King said you still need a dedicated card with up-to-date drivers. If you are using a laptop then good luck. It very rare that a laptop gpu can be upgraded and even when possible it is ludicrously expensive and not worth it. Hopefully you got a desktop. Enjuaguese
I know exactly how you feel. I played (tried) TF2 on a laptop with those exact specs. It's merely impossible, like Terry said, theres no way of avoiding it.. You would have to buy a Graphics card if you're on a PC, or just get a Gaming PC. Sorry
sushi
I have the same problem but, different specs. I'd rather post it here then making another thread. I get 30-10 fps. My specs: NVIDIA 9600 GT 1GB memory 1GB RAM (Getting 2GB for Christmas) *My pc can only hold up to 2 GB of RAM* 2.66 GHz Dual-Core Pentium D

The pentium D, I'd upgrade to a celeron (E33xx) wolfdale chip if your motherboard can support it. Then upgrade the video card. If you can't upgrade CPU get a new video card.
