I would look at these two first, you can't go wrong with Sennheiser's. The 1st link they are on sale, probably the best headphones out for under 100$. The steel series are excellent as well. Stay away from headphones with rubber/vinyl/small cushions, they suck after hours of gaming. Also stay away from the Razer headets, they suck balls and the ear pieces like to break.

 

If you can't budget those, Plantronics makes some good headsets in the 50-75$ range as well.

These things actually have 8 speakers. 3 midrange & 1 bass speaker in each earcup. Not that fake surround sound kind

The mic boom is flexible and detachable, and it also has per-channel volume control as well as an overall volume control. This particular link is the USB version so you dont need a sound card and it will have no electronic noise.

 

Although, they do sell a non-USB version which has the multiple 3.5mm audio jacks to plug into a 5.1 or greater sound card. newegg doesn't carry it at the moment, but you can find it on Turtle Beeach's site for an over-inflated cost:
