thinking about building a CHEAP custom pc (Price range is between 900 and 1100).

Friend recommended AMD and sent me a quick list of the bare basics i'd need for it.

what i'm wondering is, mouse keyboard and speakers aside as i've alrdy got those, will it work?

What you have should work together well enough, I am assuming you are going to use a stock CPU cooler and the stock fans in the case.

I'd say maybe look at a better graphics card, take a look at the nvidea 450/460s since they are not too far above your price range and a whole generation better than what you have. Also, grabbing a radeon 5770 would probably be a better idea as well. Maybe a 5850 or 5870 if you are willing to spend the extra money.

As far as your CPU, I am personally an Intel fan, but AMD will give you more in the lower price ranges. It is mostly personal preference, what you have should treat you well enough, but I'd suggest looking into Quad cores for a new build. Dual core is pretty much out dated at this point for gaming computers, although the higher end ones will still work nicely.

And you may need more power if you upgrade your graphics card, not sure.

So, what I did is I put in a BRAND NEW build for you at $876.91 subtotal. This does NOT include shipping or tax.

Optional:

Same GPU x2 [i think it can be used with the PSU above.]

Corsair H50 WC [Maybe for better cooling + mild OC?]

Corsair H70 WC [Probably better than the H50.]

Modular PSU [if you feel all neat and tidy.]

If you have any questions Banana Pants, feel free to message me.
