Duckarmada
If you can save some more, try to get a 5770. 5770 ftw. Really a great card for not a whole lot. I got it off newegg a few months ago. It had a rebate at the time. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102858&cm_re=sapphire_5770-_-14-102-858-_-Product
I AM Your Reason
5770's a great card though I swing nVidia. Do you specifically need a single-wide card? Or will a double-wide (slot width) be okay?
Fps_Ben
Yeah i have a hd 5770 right now and its been a sweet little card. if my cpu was better i can eat up dx 11 games like scop, gtaiv, bfbc2. not to mention i get 200 fps on 1280x1024 @ max settings even screen filtering with css even in a server with like 60 people. Great card go for it if you can. Oh yeah its also a good idea to get another one later if you want to go crossfire.

r3dm0nd
^ +1 i love my evga gtx 260 ive seen sli rigs out preform near same spec crossfire ones but i mean its really up to you not sure what your budget really is but if going nvidia id say a gtx 480 or gtx 580 (if you have the cash) otherwise dont really pay much attention to ati as ive had problems with them in the past

Fragger2554
I dont have a 5770 personally (I have a Geforce 9800 something like that) but i've heard good things about it.

It's a good card, but you're not going to "eat up" any games with a single 5770 unless you plan on playing at low resolutions. BranHorse
sli is better but you pay more for it. the 5770 is the best at its price range. the only other card i would get is the 460 but you gotta pay more for a little increase. to be honest though i wouldnt crossfire or sli i would save up and get a single powetfull gpu especially if your running at 1200-1080 plus resolutions i would save for a 6950 or a 6870. a lot of games (wow for example) dont even support sli or xfire.
