widdizzles
Well I was wondering how to play demos. Every time I try to play them it says "File not supported." Help please *NOTE*: I don't know if this may be a factor but I have windows 7.

Rudabaga
You play the demos in Counter Forces not Windows Media Player. playdemo <name of demo>
widdizzles
How do I know what the name is when I download it.
Rudabaga
It should say the name of it. But when you download it you must put it in your cstrike folder. Steamapps/<username>/counter-strike source/cstrike

3V0Lu710N
One more thing, how do I stop a demo when i'm recording? you type "stop" and the demo stops recording
desKrriado
How to record demo? Type in console: record deskrriado Now type: status stop How to review my demo? (In console) playdemo deskrriado stop Also works if you hit SHIFT+F2
bort
one other tip: you can use any name for the demo, such as "record 1" and it will create a file in your cstrike folder called 1.dem however, do not put spaces or special characters for the demo name. only letters and numbers. or else it wont work! after it stops recording (for example if you type "stop" or the if map changes), then be careful not to overwrite it unless you want to overwrite it. Because if you type "record 1" again, it will overwrite 1.dem with the new recording.
widdizzles
I've seen people do stuff like tick 100 tick 200 tick 270 etc. Whats up with that and how do I fast forward and rewind.
bort
like Desk said, while in a demo, press SHIF+F2. A little box will appear with options to jump to a tic, slow down, speed up, pause, etc
