I think Racial Profiling is the way to go. I mean think about it. Most terrorists are Arabs. so if they put Arabs through the full body scanner instead of being "politically correct", we would be safe and not inconvenienced at the same time. The way I see it is racial profiling is THE WAY TO GO.

 

The only people infiltrating our country are Islamic extremist. They come from the middle-east to terrorize and even recruit for homegrown terrorism. I'm sure if there was a Chinese extremist group that have pulled off big attacks here in states, that people would be weary of them.

 

It's technically racial profiling but then again it's not. Mexicans who travel across the border on foot are always thought to be illegal. So is it racial profiling to the agents who confront them? No. That should be the same approach to Arabs in airports, only because their race has committed crimes that continue to happen or to be attempted.

this topic is getting out of hand guys. Yes, Tim McVeigh the Oklahoma City bomber was not Arab. But lets look at other events ex. 9/11 the London transit bombings in 2005 or 2006 the attempted WTC bombing in the early 90's all were of middle eastern descent. Now with that being said yes any one can be a terrorist / extremist whatever you want to call them but are the pat downs really necessary for a little child or a 70 year old man? I don't think grandpa is planning to take over a plane or blow it out of the sky anytime soon. We proved to the terrorists after 9/11 that as tragic of an event it was that just took place we are going to continue to fly. While I may be changing topics a little here too much security and still having event like the underwear Christmas bomber last year don't match up. Sure, we were not using the full body scanners back then but how did noone suspect anything. While this kind of relates to the whole racial profiling argument, you should trust your instincts. If I have a suspicion that someone is harmful or may be harmful then if I am wrong, sorry for wasting their time, but what if I am right and said person got through the full body scanner or refused it and then i found a detonator or something based on my instincts.
