Clark
The problem is, some of the documents leaked have names of people who helped the American military overseas. They will most likely be tortured and killed for aiding our government. Along with their families. Assange has their blood on his hands. But, that is a good thing. According to some of you dumbasses who think this shit is freedom of speech.

According to some of you dumbasses who think this shit is freedom of speech. I'm kind of out of the loop on the progression of this, but two main points have to be addressed: 1 - Whistleblowers are protected by law, but you better have a damned good reason for doing it 2 - Leaking classified information, especially to foreign parties gets you in a world of shit unless you're protected by the whistleblower act Either way, if the information WAS released to the public, AND the thief was protected, it's pretty much in the best interests of everyone to redact personal information, lest the murder of foreign nationals be on your hands. Bottom line, release of classified information, regardless of the security, or lack thereof, still constitutes espionage unless you have a legal, valid reason to bring that information to light. piscian
I think it's interesting to look at how different this is in America than the rest of the world. In America there are enough people being openly cheated and lied to that it's actually being questioned whether what he did was right or wrong.
