Daitenshi Posted April 14, 2009 Share Posted April 14, 2009 Some of you probably remember me (the old guys) and most of you probably no longer do. I was also once an Office admin and for a while lost my admin, not sure how long despite continued donations. I never abused beyond muting mic spammers that then whine of abuse or slay for obnoxious camping. Now I didn't mind that my admin had been removed when I was informed that it was a system error, but when I did not get it back, proceeded to cancel my subscription. I also noticed that my HT tag and name had been removed from the roster as well. That is fine, since I did take a half year leave for personal reasons. Brief intro over and now back to the meat of the matter. The honest truth is that compared to how it was before, HT/HG has really fallen off. While I have not been hear as long as the likes of DJ, J3tta, Gambino (if the guy is still around), and a few others, I have been here since the days of Lamp and some other HG staff from that time. In fact, me and Lamp originally became admins at the same time, with I believe Depti before that. Depti has always been a great representative on Office for HG, both as a clan member and especially an admin. He is a guy that is long respected both for his handling of admin affairs as well as being a great shot with AK. So many times, I have seen admins just sit there and hand out money every single round, to the point that the server has come to expect that, and believed that was all they had to do. So many times I had seen hackers run rampage while 3-4 admins sit there twiddling their thumbs before me or another admin bans them. Point is, HG and HT are both not what they use to be and losing someone like Depti is only going to make this downward spiral worse. PS I lost my old account's password and have since had that email account cancelled. If someone can help me retrieve it that would be great! It is about the people who are in HT/HG that have nothing to do with the workings of the group. This is a community. It has always been a community. If people just want to play in the servers without being part of the community, why wear the tag. Homer is aware of the situation with all the people who have not been around at all. He has agreed that we will be removing people who do not want to be a part of this. To be so stubborn about it, Depti, I don't understand. You don't want to be involved, then don't be involved. It's about being part of a group. Daitenshi, you say that losing someone like Depti is only going to make the downward spiral worse. According to Depti himself, we never had him at all. I don't understand why Homer would say, "Oh, don't worry about being in the clan. Just wear the tag." For what? Because it makes us look cooler that Depti is in HT? Hard to believe. Sometimes we have to use a ban to get a person to have a discussion with us. But you guys always approach the situation the wrong way. When your admin was removed, it was YOUR duty to come to the boards and figure out why. This is done through a template, and in a mature fashion. When things are handled correctly, they get situated in a matter of minutes. This reminds me of Church, who had his admin removed so that we could discuss his attitude and how he uses his admin. Instead of coming and asking why his admin was removed, he started flaming HT members, the servers, and how the servers are ran. If he would have came in and discussed the situation, his admin would have been re-instated and the situation would have ended. But you guys immediatly get out of line and act a fool, rather than understand why things happen. Sorry if you are a good admin, and have been around for a long time. But coming in here with threads titled "And make sure you cancel my $15 subscription..." and flaming people immediatly, before any conversations.... You dug your own hole. That was pretty much the same arrangement I had when I was invited, and I was invited some time before Depti. I'm never on vent, even though I have it installed. A few months ago I flat-out ASKED to be removed from HT and have my admin cancelled, and my request was refused -- which is funny given this thread. I even asked to be banned from the forum, but no such luck -- not that I really visit here anymore anyway. I rarely join the server either because quite frankly the way things are handled nowadays are patently ridiculous, and it is no surprise to read about the other QUALITY admins experiencing the same things I did. What you need is an intermediate level of admin that allows those select individuals to have authority over the common admins. I think that there already is such a tier in place on the server, but those powers are not in the hand of people mature enough to make it beneficial to the server.
