Russian Microsoft employees have pushed the button on Windows 7 service pack 1, by revealing that it is winging its way to computer manufacturers. As spotted by WinRumours, the company's Rusky Windows virtualisation bods confirmed that version 7601.17514.win7sp1_rtm.101119-1850 is the final build and it will be in the laps of OEMs soon.

In November, Microsoft prepped its Windows Service Pack blocker tool kit to include its upcoming service packs for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2.

The SP1s for both operating systems hit Release Candidate status in October, and it was widely expected that the service packs would arrive this month.

But apart from the Russian blog, Microsoft hasn't made any other official comment about the release.

Microsoft's service pack release cycle for Windows 7 is similar to that of its predecessor, Vista.

Microsoft handed OEMs the ill-fated software in November 2006, and a service pack for Vista landed 14 months later.
