Mike is Fr3sh
So, recently I have been having car issues. I've noticed that when accelerating, my car will rev quite a bit, but i see very little increase in acceleration. I think it might be my clutch slipping, but I don't know for sure. Also, it seems to be idling rather high when its in neutral. I don't know if that's related or not. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this? I have a leak at my valve gasket cover, but that shouldn't be causing issues other than springing a leak. I plan to clean out my IAC valve this weekend and replace my transmission fluid as well. piscian
thats a transmission issue I believe if your reving high but not accelerating your gears aren't flipping over to the next in line. I wouldn't fuck with it Id get your transmission/car checked right away. I'm not a car expert thats just a guess.

Cr(+)sshair
Could be your thermostat or a vacuum leak. Do you have a CAI?

Jake
Your transmission is slipping if your engine is reving but not moving. Auto a manual? If auto, check your fluid, while the car is running. if manual then your clutch could be slipping and it should be replaced.

If i do replace the clutch, should I go OEM or purchase a performance one? I am planning to install a cold air intake, shortshifter and maybe new cylinder heads if I have the patience to install them.

If your new one shits out, you have a backup right in your garage.
Jake
OEM is fine, you can go after-market if you want though. Typically give you a stiffer clutch and a more "sporty" feel. if you do go after-market though don't cheap out. You'll be replacing it again sooner than you want. Never trust a hippie
would be a lot cheaper. wait, does he know how to change a clutch? doesn't sound like it. You would need a lift... Save some cash if you know someone you can bring it to. I know shops hate when you bring them parts to put on. You should make friends with your local mechanic, good ones are not very easy to come by.
Mike is Fr3sh
Thanks for the info guys. I believe replacing my clutch kit is a little out of my league. So I guess I know what my next paycheck will be spent on...
60Seconds
I don't know if they sell them in stores but BMW clutches are amazing. In my 550i I have an automatic but before I had a manual in a M3 and the clutch had a good feel and was easy to move. But if your transmission is seriously fucked up, take it to the Toyota dealer even though I hate Toyota dealers.

I really don't know if they sell them in stores, but clutches made of asian penises are really where it is at. They are not only compact, but also very lightweight. In my 69t I have an automatic green penis, but before I had a manual black penis in my KY, and the clutch had a good feel and was easy to move. But if your tranny is seriously fucked up, take it back to the pimp even though I hate pimps. That is how I read your post.
