Dont BLink Posted January 26, 2011 Share Posted January 26, 2011 I quite WoW about 4 months ago. WOTLK was terrible but it didnt stop me from playing. ICC was shitty, but it was easy. After each expansion the game just got worse, I told myself i wouldnt get Cata and play again, but ive been rethinking. But i wanna know how Cata is before i play again. Definately not the type of WoW you're used to, then again its been a while for me too so my choice was skewed, inb4 a bunch of ppl telling you not to do it. Playing since vanilla, I was pretty much royally pissed off that the content that I played for was pretty much eliminated. I guess I'd consider playing Cat if I had a little extra money laying around and people I know to play with, and of course, it isn't completely lame. The wife would probably kill me, though. JoeStar Posted March 12, 2011 Share Posted March 12, 2011 I like all the expansions, I'm still playing WoW atm, and it IS quite different, apart from azeroth being changed, the quests got better in my opinion whenever I would start a new character I would always have fun even in low level quests, not like before where NPCs would ask you to collect this amount of stuff or kill this amount of enemies. Now its stuff like, sitting in the back of a Kodo with a gun, while being chased by wolves Although I do agree about ICC being easy, and Black Temple being hard as hell. S.T.A.L.K.E.R Posted March 12, 2011 Share Posted March 12, 2011 WoW is way better now I took a 4 month break and when I came back I decided to level my paladin and the new maps in dungeons and quests at the gate and the new death system and the world all burned up is really epic and making money is really easy now The Worgen quest line is way easier and more understandable then the goblin quest line If ur coming back to wow I can send u a scroll of resurrection if u want. Cat I personally think did NOT kill WoW. I personally wish I had the money and decent computer to run WoW because after watching several previous of Cat, I was very VERY impressed with what Blizzard was going to be releasing. I don't quite understand though why they would only add 5 extra levels when they really should have added 10 extra levels. Now as far as Blizzard making more expansions, I think this will probably be the last one they do for at least a few years or forever. I give 5 out of 5 stars to Blizzard for doing such a good job on this expansion. I have a level 73 Drani Pally that has been frozen for almost a year now . What I mean by that is that my account has not been used in over a year. Anyways, Cat did not kill WoW, plain and simple. Nothing has really changed, and the raids are still easy(they have been since vanilla). I got 85, rolled through most of the bosses and then unsubscribed out of boredom. Itchy: You're giving the expansion a 5/5 and giving all this opinion on it when you haven't even played it(and apparently not WOTLK either)? Bottom line is if you quit out of boredom in WOTLK, there is no reason to come back for Cata. Strangely enough nearly all of the people whining about how easy ICC was never killed 25 man LK on hard mode(not that it was particularly hard either). Honestly i loved when it was capped at 60, and MC was a pain in the ass... however the game has changed since then. With a more diverse world, and new ways to personalise your character, the game has become more expansive and immersive. However with the changes, the game was made much, much easier (as you stated). Upon the release of BC i was reluctant to play much, but after a few weeks i purchased the expansion and got re-hooked. Upon the release of WotLK, again, i was reluctant to play, but... again i finally bought it and was hooked again. Yet the difference between BC and WotLK was quite serious... the game got way, way to easy, hICC25 was still easy to me, and my guild cleared it quite quickly as i played on Blackrock with <Clarity>. And now i come to my final statment. When cataclysm was released... i STOPPED playing, canceled my account, and can honestly tell you that i've kicked a 7 year addiction. If your an oldschool wow'er... cataclysm is terrible (IMO). If you like WotLK and enjoy the simplicity of the "new" WoW. Then by all means, cata will be fun. I was forced to stop playing WoW due to my academic grades and I was this close to failing my junior year of high school. If I had money, I would most certainly play WoW again and upgrade to Cataclysm. And yes I have played WOTLK. How do you think I got to level 73? I went to all of the places in WOTLK, I just dont remember the names of the places because its been a year or two since Ive played WoW. Raids are challenging again (not like MC from vanilla days, but then again the 40 mans were pretty much everybody running around like chickens with their heads cut off) and they (blizzard) are adding two "harder" 5-man heroic dungeons that will drop epic loot.
